BAsed on the comments on this forum I decided to go with the Clear Touch Crystal screen protector for my x50v. After 2 attempts I got it on with no bubbles. The problem I have is that it aligns correctly on the left side of the screen but, leaves a small amount of space on the right side. Should the protector fit exactly to the screen. Since this is on the right side it is quite annoying when I am scrolling down on PIE. It seems that if I move it over I will then have room on the left side.
Any feedback would be appreciated, as I am trying to figure out if I should ask Boxwave for a replacement.
Mine fit exactly with bearly any room to take it off. it is possible that you were sent protectors for teh wrong model PDA, or they were miscut. I would contact Boxwave.
ClearTouch specs call for no more than a 0.5 mm gap around the perimeter. I would imagine that means that if you align it completely on the left, you should have no more than a 1.0 mm gap on the right.
Actually, it should not fit exactly, but should have a very small gap. If you have it so close to the edge that it touches, you may have screen tap issues. If you get a protector that is a little larger than the screen size, or cut one your self like that, and then slide it slightly under the screen edges, you almost certainly WILL have screen tap issues!
Here's something else to check: It is possible to slide the screen protector into the space between the screen and the case. This will leave quite a large gap on the opposite side. (I know this because I did it... the gap on mine was ~3mm) An easy way to tell is to take the protective backing you peeled off the "adhesive" side(if you still have it), and lay it on your screen to see if it fits the same as the protector. If you no longer have the backing, you'll have to remove the protector to see if this is the problem.
I bought the Boxwave (clear) and ditched it after a week bacuse I did not like the effect it had on my screen.
Personally, I'd rather go naked.
I agree with going "al natural" - As long as you use a case to protect the screen in transit. I have NEVER seen a screen protector in 6 years of many PDA's that didn't degrade the screen some, and I just can't cover my VGA baby.
Before all you Boxwave salesmen posing as users reply... IMO The screen is brighter, sharper, and has better contrast without a cover. And I have 2 HDTV's to compare it to.

This happened to me, too. I decided that the next time I'll line it up on the right and leave the gap on the left. The left side won't be used for a scroll bar like the right side is. I've been playing around and watching my usage and I don't use the left side of the screen anywhere near as much as the scrollbar on my right. Even with the gap, I'm not seeing it be a huge problem once I got used to it.
Yep, I too have a gap of about 0.5mm on my left side, almost unnoticeable to me!
I think the screen looks GREAT with the CLEAR CRYSTAL, and I'm certainly going to order again (a pack of 3 this time) IF... and only IF, Boxwave replies to me regarding this oil or air (not sure what it is) at the sides!!!

Hi francesco_q,
Could you describe a little more about the oil or air issue you're having? If they are air bubbles, it's just a minor problem that can be resolved by "massaging" the screen. If not, it may quite possibly be a defective unit.
Feel free to let me know through PM or here on the forums in case any others are having similar issues.
I was able to reapply the protector and remove the gap. It must have slid under the side as was mentioned. Thanks.
Unfortunately, after removing and washing per the instructions it is not quite as clean as it was. I pick up dust in my house. Looks ok with the unit on but, you can definitely pick up the imperfections with the unit off. I'll chalk this up to lesson learned and buy another once this one wears down in a few months.
My X50v screen looks GREAT with the BoxWave CLEAR CRYSTAL, even though it has a big piece of lint under it and a bubble near the top of the screen.
I received it after a fun visit from our kids. There wasn't a clear table top or counter in our house to work on -- what a mess! I actually tried to lay a cardboard box upside down on my bed to make a work area. I then decided to steam up the bathroom and moved my operation on to a small towel cart.
I used canned air to blow the dust from around the edges of the screen. I didn’t line up the protector correctly the first time, and am not sure if I got a full second try. Some reviews said they were able to "slide it in place." There was no sliding -- it sticks. I picked up the lint somewhere. And then there's a small bubble. But it looks good. I'm not going to mess with trying to pull it off to wash off the piece of lint, and then place it back, although, with it wet, it might SLIDE easily in place. But what if I picked up two pieces of lint the next time... And, can it really be removed without pulling off the face of the screen??? It sure sticks well.
It is clear, and I can't imagine not having protection. I've used just about everything for a stylus, the handiest being a closed pen.
I have a retractable stylus, pen, & pencil instrument. With an earlier Axim model, I used the retractable stylus in dim light, and noticed dark marks on the screen -- I was using the pencil, but it was on a screen protector. I definitely need to protect my screen at all times – I want it to last. (I want my next upgrade to be the implantable chip.)
Mine has a piece of lint under it too - I can never get them on without at least one piece getting in there -
