Keyboards
I want to get a keyboard for my x50v but I dont know what to get. What are the differences between IR and bluetooth keyboards? What is the best keyboard for the money. By the best keyboard for the money, I mean ALL types of compatible keyboards for the x50v including bluetooth, IR, connected, etc. Thanks.

The difference between an IR keyboard and a Bluetooth KB is how the x50 connects to the keyboard. As to which is best, that really depends on personal preference. I use a thumb board and the folding, connected keyboard for my x3i. I also use dotpocket when I am connected to a PC. My problem with IR and BT keyboards is one of power usage. The keyboards need batteries, the interface(IR or BT) uses power. Too much of a pain, in my opinion. If I had to choose, I would probably use a bluetooth keyboard as it would be easier to use in either portrait or landscape mode. IR keyboards have to be positioned just so in order for the IR beam to get to where it is supposed to go.

the batterys in these keyboards from what i have seen last forever, bluetooth keyobards are a wireless way of typing within about 30 feet of axim, (bluetooth is like a mini wifi for conncecting two devices)

Ir you must have direct contact of the two devices and prob be within a few feet

A bluetooth keyboard, like the think outside bt, connects over the bluetooth shortrange networking system, this offers more flexibility with how and where you place the pda while you are typing, an infared keyboard generally has a "wand" that you move up and down to lign it up with your pda, this limits you to having the pda right next to the wand, however the ifared ones are almost half the price of the bluetooth ones.

I would reccomend a bluetooth keyboard, I have one and us it alot everyday with no major power issues, I just have my pda plugged in over night. No matter which one you decide on check www.thinkoutside.com for the best on the market

Get the bluetooth think outside stwaway keyboard. Amazon.com has it for 86 bucks and free shipping - Good buy and better functionality than IR. I have it and love mine. But that is because I hate thumboards I agree that it is a personal preference.
