Hey techhounds,
Its a very nice keyboard and I am quite happy with it.
The other day I accidentaly switched out my batt before turning off the axim and ended up doing a weird sorta hard reset. I was very inebriated at the time!
Anyways, the result of this silly stunt was that my keyboard started reversing keys on me. I would type q and get a, type a and get q, type m and get , and on and on. So I call up Dell Canada at 1-800-www-dell and only 4 phone numbers later, a helpful rep suggests removing and reinstalling the keyboard drivers in activesync and on the axim. Tried it with the rep online and got no joy, still had the same key reversing problem.
So the rep set me up with a DPS # and I got my replacement keyboard the very next day from Purolator. Wow, fast ass!
So right now I'll APOLOGIZE to Dell for wasting their time since the new keyboard had the same glitch reversing keys on me! ARGGGG. So I bite the bullet and did a hard reset, reinstalled the dell keyboard drivers and made a secure connection ok. WOOT
Tried my q, it was a beautiful little q. My a was a nice little a. YAY.
So my bad for getting Dell to send out a replacement but at least it helped me resolve the issue quickly.
If anyone else gets a reverse key problem with the dell executive bluetooth keyboard, just uninstall the drivers from both activesync and axim, then perform a hard reset, reinstall the drivers to activesync and axim and then connect the keyboard. All should be resolved. Just dont forget that after a hard reset all data is wipped except Windows Mobile+ all your proggs need to be reinstalled after but this can be done from the Activesync Add/Remove Programs menu as long as they were previously installed.
