Belkin IR Keyboard with X50?
I've seen conflicting reports on this. Will it in fact work with an X50?

TIA

Don't get that keyboard!!! I am a former IR KEyboard owner. THey are not very good to use. First you have to always have the IR lined up directly with the IR port so you are not going to be able to charge your Axim and use the keyboard at the same timem and with the battery life on the Axim's while using Wi-Fi that sometimes is a necessity.

You should investigate the Dell Executive Bluetooth Keyboard. It is about $40 - $60 cheaper than the ThinkOutside edition and it works great. I am using mine right now. With the Bluetooth you can be anywhere within 30 feet of your Axim and it will still recieve a signal. It works superbly with my Axim X30 Mid.

One of my sons has an Axim x50v and my other son has a Palm Tungsten E. Since the Tungsten has no bluetooth support I wanted to get one keyboard that both could use(obviously not at the same time).

So if the Belkin works for x50v I would like to hear about it. I think they can survive the issues with an IR keyboard.

Also, the keyboard can be used while the Axim is cradled. Can't with IR.

I was not pleased with my belkin ir keyboard. Although I know you're not supposed to drop them, one time and the thing totally came apart. It is now taped back together. While it does work fine, if I buy another one I'd get the thinkoutside off of amazon for $45 because it has a builtin stand for the Axim. The belkin does not. This really is a problem unless you have a nice flat steady surface, which kinda defeats the purpose of a PPC. Also, to those who said you can't charge the axim at the same time, you can. just flip to horizontal orientation.

The Belkin IR keyboard for Dell Axim x50v: I bought it. It works.

Things to keep in mind:

1. After you install the drivers, soft-reset the PDA, or the driver won't get loaded (Belkin's PDF guide did not mention this). Also, there are new drivers on Belkin's web site, don't install the ones from the CD-ROM.
2. The driver also installs a virtual keyboard, called "Faceboard". It doesn't work correctly when loaded via the little keyboard menu. It works fine if you load its executable manually from the place you installed the drivers. You don't really need the Faceboard anyway though.

Other than that, I found the keyboard to work as advertised.

Eugenia, I am really interested in how you like the IR keyboard. I sent back the BT keyboard (Dell) because it wouldn't keep a connection, and am looking for another solution. Looks like the IR one is the only other option.

Hi. I have a Belkin ir keyboard that I would like to use with my dell axim x50v. However, I can't find the drivers and my keyboard didn't come with the cd. Any information that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

I emphasize my point.
Drivers are a pain with the IR Keyboards. I had one with and X30 mid and it was not compatible with my IR and constantly locked up the device.
