car charger
I bought a car charger for my x50v and when I use it, the screen on my axim flickers a bit. Is this normal when using a car charger? I bought it from Pocket Solutions.

No, the flickering means the power supply is insufficient. Read the sticky thread at the top of the X50 Accessories forum.

I had the same problem. The charge is not enough to completely charge the x50v. However since it flickers, then there is a charge that is successfully going into the X50v.

Here's the best fix in your case. Goto Settings, Brightness and set the battery brightness and AC brigthness to be the same. With this setting when the axim thinks its not connected to the charger it will not decrease the brightness and you'll have a stable screen.

hope this helps. Worked for me though!

No, there is no guarantee that the charge incoming is sufficient when flickering is occurring and in fact it may be discarging your battery even faster than it would if disconnected. Hiding the problem by eliminating the flicker may make it worse by leading to ending up with a dead battery when you expected it to be charging.

BrooklynGeek turned me on to this USB lighter plug, and I ordered one last night to try out. It looks promising from it's specs, I'll post when I get it
