X50v And Audiovox Rtm 8000 Cf
Just some info on the working of the Audiovox GSM/GPRS CF Card. I bought one of these along with an X50V. I was assured at the time of sale that it would work with a Bluetooth headset.
I can now advise that it will not. Email from Audiovox states that the only audio out/in put is via the socket and wire microphone/ear piece. So while you will hear the ring tone on BT you cannot make/receive calls.
Being fair to Dell, although 2 different sales reps told me emphatically that it would work, they have agreed a refund and to collect the RT8000.
So is look as though I will have to BT to mobile. If anyone comes across a CF option that does BT, please post on the forum.
Cheers Keith

okay, so here's a quick workaround for the lack of bluetooth support in these gsm and gprs cards. we can construct a ~2" audio adapter that does the following:

1. connect the axim earpiece-out to the mic-in of the gsm/gprs card
2. connect the axim mic-in to the earpiece-out of the gsm/gprs card

then we'll need to write a driver (might already exist) to send the bluetooth mic to the axim's earpiece-out and the axim's mic-in to the bluetooth earpiece.

with a ~2" adapter cable and a driver that probably already exists, you could use your bluetooth headset with a gsm/gprs card. for the adapter, it would probably be best to use a straight jack for the axim side and an L-shaped jack for the gsm/gprs card side.

The problem was that dell has not put these keys in registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ExtModems\PocketPresenceGPRSMod em]
"FriendlyName"="GPRS_Modem on COM4:"
"Port"="COM4:"
"DeviceType"=dword:00000001

So if we fix the keys does that mean we can get bluetooth working again?
