This may be a daft question but is the X50 and X50v exactly the same size? I see RhinoSkin cases on sale on eBay saying X50/X50v but wanted to confirm the above before ordering one!

TIA!

the only difference between the X50 and X50v is the screen size, the outer dimensions are identical...almost all cases are fitted around the 3.7inch (x50v) screen so that they will work with either the x50v or x50 (3.5 inch) screens

love my rhinoskin case also, only prob is finger prints, weird solution recommended to me is polish it with baby oil and polish the oil off again, it is easy to clean with a quick wipe. it works well, not sure how long it lasts for, is supposed to be good for stainless steel as well.

I just tested my case with the touch method........no fingerprints.......maybe you are a greasy guy? In that case I think the prints on your case should be the least of your worries...JK!

no wipe in and wipe off, no oil left on surface, not greasing the case, try it if finger prints all over your nice shiny case bothers you, it makes it very easy to clean, the prints dont show as much and a quick wipe restores to shiny new.

Is there only one rhinoskin case to choose from?
A while back I saw a rhinoskin case for the Axim X50 on ebay - how does it differ from the slip case that is included with the Axim?

Astetics aside, does it really protect better? Does the Rhinoskin chance hitting the screen when the case is closed (like some of these other cases do?)

How do Rhinoskin cases hold up against dust?
Against falls?

How does it feel in your hand?
Does the case need to be removed to sync the X50v or do most of you just sync wirelessly to your desktop?

Thanks.

It's an aluminium hard case

Astetics aside, does it really protect better? Does the Rhinoskin chance hitting the screen when the case is closed (like some of these other cases do?)
I've tested this and I haven't seen any contact from the inside cover to the screen.

How do Rhinoskin cases hold up against dust?
Plan on letting it sit for extended periods? The inside is covered in a felt material which likes to hold onto fuzzies, but is easy to clean with some tape.

Against falls?
Dropped mine in the driveway the other day after having it for a total of 12 hours. Not a thing wrong with the Axim, no screen contact. The case got scuffed minorly.

How does it feel in your hand?
It fits the Axim pretty snugly so it's not much different aside from having the case cover hanging to the right which doesn't get in the way and is so light that it doesn't weight it down.

Does the case need to be removed to sync the X50v or do most of you just sync wirelessly to your desktop?
I dont' know if the cradle with the X50 or the X50v is different or the same, but with my x50, I have to remove it from the case to use with the standard cradle fom DELL. I only do this at night when I get home though, so it can charge. Not a big deal really. If you want to sync without having to take it out of the case , like you said, sycn it wirelessly (if applicable).

I don't like my rhino skin...I prefer no skin. It's too bulky.

The rhinoskin is great if you like to drop your stuff alot. ie. me. Dropped my x50v a couple times already and all the damage was only done to the case. Nothing on the PDA itself. Thats the point of the case. Protect the contents right?

I really like my rhinoskin. It's great for me when I work; just put the skin on and put the axim in my back pocket with my headphones attached. I havent dropped it or bumped it at all (thank goodness), but the thing sure is very durable. No problems. I would recommend one in a heartbeat. Cheers.
