my "sync n suck" cable is great for draining batteries. Thats what I enjoy using it for all the time anyways.

I finished a design to power and charge an Axim from a 7.5-16v power supply, such as some batteries or a Firewire port.
I ended up using a different chip for efficiency reasons.
My design to charge an Axim from a USB port isn't complete yet. I'm planning to modify a PT5044N module to output 5.6v.

How is it possible to run (i.e., use activesync or Card Export II or suchlike) and not charge? Is there a way, when it is switched on, to tell the axim not to try to take a charge when connected using a usb sync and charge cable?

If I understand correctly, what I really need is a USB charge cable to charge my axim via the USB port when it is switched off and a separate USB sync cable, which is not pinned out to supply power to the axim, to use activesync or the like when the axim is on.

Or, am I just getting myself into a complete pickle here?
