VGA Cable Questions
Hey guys,

Looking into this VGA cable I can't quite come up with a few answers about it, even from the dell site, and my searches on here, so if any of you can help me out that would be great.

I gather that there is a CD of software that comes with the Presentation Bundle...
A. Does it need to be installed on all the computers/projectors you use your VGA cable with?
B. What enhancement does the program give to the X50v/computer/projector? I mean why would I install it?
C. Does the software install to the X50v or the Computer?
D. Is playback hindered by not installing the software?

Now more questions tuned to the cable / its connection to the computer...
A. Does the X50v consume more or less power while say watching a video on a LCD screen?
B. Does the cable go straight to the monitor, or does it pass throught the computer VGA input and then out?
C. Does the cable power the axim?
D. I watch my movies with the Processor @ 208 MHz, will I still be able to while watching on a external monitor?
E. My movies are encoded in 640x480, will they be that size on the monitor, is there any way to enhance the resolution?
F. Do I have to keep the screen on while it is playing on an external monitor?

Thank you for helping me out, I hope I can return the favor
-Brad

A. The software doesn't need to be installed at all. You can display anything on your Axim's screen to a monitor/projector. Dell apparently just thinks this software would be nice to have. To use it you just install on your Axim.
B. This software (ClearVue suite) is one of the few (maybe the only) program to support a resolution of 1024x768 on an external device. Presentations and what-not will look much better in this resolution.
C. The x50v
D. No. This software just has features that other programs don't, like increased resolution.

And for your second set...

A. Axim consumes the same amount of power.
B. Straight to the monitor. No other computer is needed (this would kinda defeat the purpose if you did need one).
C. No
D. Yes, at 640x480. When/If 1024x768 support is added, you'll probably need more processor power.
E. Not right now. Picard of Betaplayer is supposedly working on this feature though (if I'm wrong about this Picard, I'm sorry. I think I read it another thread somewhere).
F. No, but you can if you want.

Hope this helps.
As for returning the favor, I accept cash

Currently in mirroring mode everything is displayed in VGA fullscreen. This means the VGA movies will be in fullscreen aswell.

In theory it would be possible to add support for higher resolution TV output in BetaPlayer not using the mirro mode (so the player does the stuff that currently the mirroring tool). Example scale a 640x480 movie to 1024x768 output. But I'am not sure when or if I will add this feature.

Oh man that sounds like it would be a great addition to Betaplayer. If you have any time to work on it I would be very thankful
