Dell x50v to TV
I have the Dell x50v with the vga presentation bundle. I would like to show pictures stored on a CF card on my TV. I was thinking of getting a VGA to RCA converter cable so that I could hook the pDA up to my TV with the RCA/s-video ports. Will this work?

The converter cables have horrible horrible quality. Make sure it's a 'box' of some sort that has electronic circuitry in it, unfortunately they're kind of expensive ($70-$150) but they produce a nice picture.

Even a X30h screen is higher quality than a TV; don't expect a X50v to be able to display clear images on a TV.
If you have a TV that accepts component input, use a VGA to component cable. (The X50v outputs 480p.)

Has anyone figured out how to connect to a TV? I've seen the CF card solution, but could not find a price. Is there any other way? Ideally, I'd like to connect my x50v to my TV to watch movies or show pictures that are on my Axim.

If the TV can take 480p (all the good ones can), use a VGA to component cable.

You should look into getting an image viewr for your tv. I bought one for $20 at ecost.com. It uses CF, SD, SM, and MS cards. Just pop the card in and go, works great.

Here's the link to the one I have:http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecsplash/...sp?dpno=404646
It is no longer $20, but $36.99 isn't bad either. You might find it cheaper elsewhere though.

This would work if you had the vga presentation bundle. You can get it off ebay for $3.75.

Will it? I saw in this thread that it would not:

NO. That cable is a break-out cable, not a converter. You'll need a VGA2TV converter to get TV-out.

Is there a USB host cable too? First I've heard of this VGA-out cable, so I'd thought there might be a USB host cable that I haven't heard of either.

Has anyone tested such a connector?

Pretech were going to release a CF card with USB host ports on it. However I'm not sure if it ever saw the light of day in the UK.
