I originally bought a universal keyboard from Targus thinking I was going to buy a different PDA. But when I realised the x50v was the one for me, I returned the Targus and opted to go with the Dell Keyboard.
WELL....
One thing: It never worked properly. In order to use it, I could never let the system go into suspend or turn it off; otherwise, the keyboard would not respond, even after rescanning for it using its own address.
I would have to reboot, then restart Word, then go into the options for the bluetooth keyboard, then rescan for the bluetooth keyboard.
As you can imagine, this was a HUGE pain when you're trying to take notes.
WELL...my way around this. When I was in lectures taking notes and the professor went off on a tangent or showed us a demonstration, I kept tapping the screen every minute or so in order to prevent it from going into suspend mode and thus prevent having to reboot.
Fine...that was a pain in the arse, but it was better than toting around my laptop. Until, that is, the plastic tab that propped up the keyboard BROKE only three weeks after using it! I didn't drop it...not at all. I was super careful with all this equipment.
No...it broke due to normal usage (and probably because I kept having to tap the frickin' screen every minute!). Well I just got done talking with Tech Support, and they told me this was not covered unless you had the Total Care package, which was NOT offered in Florida otherwise I would have taken it.
So now, I'm stuck with a USELESS piece of junk because they won't send me a 10 cent piece of plastic to prop it up! Taking notes in class was the whole purpose I got the Axim to begin with. Anyone else have a bad experience with this thing? I'm going with another brand and plan to take Dell's keyboard out into the parking lot and repeatedly vent my rage unto it with my car's rear tire.
Thank you for stealing my 80 dollars, Dell.
