I can thoroughly recommend the
Shure E3's. They are in-ear type, not just ear buds. This makes them great for sound isolation as well as high quality audio. I use mine for air travel instead of noise cancelling headphones. The sound isolation of the Shure E3's is way ahead of even the most expensive Bose noise cancelling headphones.
We also use these Shure E3's for musicians stage performances for in-ear monitors. They love them as well.
The E2's are less expensive and aimed at the iPod consumer market. The E3's are the entry level professional earphones, with the E5's being the very expensive top-of-the-line model.
I got my last 2 pairs for US$135 delivered to a US address (while I was traveling in the USA from Australia).
