I/O Magic GigaBank™4.0 Compatibility.

Has anyone cracked one of these open?

They always seem to be popping up on offer in 2.2 and 4 gig versions. I assume it's a microdrive and was wondering if anyone had tried it in an X50(v) and what manufacturer it was.

I was going to give I/O Magic a call a while back and I think I still will tomorrow. I'm not sure whether they will be able to, or want to give that information out.

If anyone has tried it and got it working I'd like to know, please.

Thanks, zero.

Thanks. I spotted the other post made just after I posted this one. Not sure why it wasn't here in accessories though. Needless to say, I won't be following suit and cracking one open.

I just spoke to them and based on what "Henry" is telling me, there is a Mini-HDD in this unit. :exc:

This is a physical disk and it is breakable if the unit is accidentally dropped.

Not sure if I like the fact that there is a spindle in this tiny unit. Still testing.
