I hate Boxwave!! I hate X50!!

I am so sick of my X50v and my boxwave; I am about ready to sell it. The Boxwave is a piece of junk; it's impossible to put on and is always dirty no matter how many times I clean it.

My X50v is another matter. It constantly freezes up and needs a soft reset about every other day. :realmad: Waste of $500.

Well the Boxwaves are a pain, took some getting used to. As for the x50, what do yu have installed...I ran into problems with certain programs combos....screwed it up nine ways to tuesday....back up your data and do a hard reset and only install a few programs....I installed everything under the sun and it crashed all the time, put it on a diet and it runs fine....list what problems you're having and someone in here will try and help.

I have exactly two programs installed: Magic Button and oz_VGA. I also keep up a 256 MB SD card inside with some picture files and a video saved on it.

I get a lot of problems opening IE (crashes) and the calendar tends to crash. And Solitaire, Word, Excel....

And I'm guessing it's too late for Dell to replace it? I've had it since Jan

Keep testing it out. Maybe (as grentz suggested) you have a bum unit. I had problems with my first installation of software on my X50v, but after a week or so, I did a hard reset and carefully reinstalled everything (backing up with Sprite along the way), and now it works like a champ!

Also, I'm using a BoxWave Crystal and I love it. Took a few tries at first to get it right, but after that no problem. (This is the fourth or fifth one I've put on a PDA--wife's X5 Advance and my old X3i), so I may have a better handle on it than I used to, also.

No. it's not too late. I've had mine since November and had them replaced mine about 3 weeks ago. 1 year warranty is standard with Dell. :)

You can get a replacement. You can also send it back for a refund less 10% if you had it for more than 21 days, which you have.

I hope you go for the replacement. Mine works great, always has, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. The only time I had to do a hard reset was when I upgraded the ROM. I do soft resets every few days to clear memory, but that's no big deal. I wish you the best.

I'm with you on this one. I use vBar and have had a couple of hiccups out of it, but nothing major. I did have some major problems with the PocketBreeze demo. Other folks have reported strange problems when using Today plugins. I'd do a hard reset and try vBar instead.

Amit--Yeah, sure. I loaded it on my x50v and I immediately started having problems with my 802.11b. It was a couple of weeks back and I'm sorry, but I don't remember the error message that I got. I uninstalled the program and still had the issue. Luckily I had backed up that day (yes, I'm really anal about it), so I did a hard reset and rolled back to my backup and everything's been cool since then. It could be an incompatibility with my software--I've got a couple of programs loaded onto my device including vBar.

Since this is off the topic of this thread, feel free to PM me if you'd like. For the record I really liked PocketBreeze, and I think the incompatibility may have more to do with the x50v hardware than with your software. I have seen several other threads here where people have complained about similar issues with other similar Today plugins. I was going to run the trial again after the next firmware update comes out (I'm running A02).

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming... :D
