Watching movies on the 50x
Hi guys, I just ordered a mid-level (544 or something) x50 off eBay, a BoxWave cleartouch AG screen cover, and a black sena case, I should have it all by Wed or Thursday, so im pretty excited

I didn't really think of any thing I could do with it before buying it, I just had some extra cash on PayPal and I don't trust them too much with cash so decided to go ahead and order one. Anyways, I've been brainstorming a bit about what I could use it for and I read that some of you all are watching movies on yours! This gave me a great idea! watching movies in my car!!!! But i have a few questions about this
1. How large is the typical movie file? Will I need to get a flash card? I was thinking about getting just a 1GB one from sams as many of you all seem to do, would this be large enough to just load one movie on the night before?

2. Any ideas on how to mount the x50 to a part of the interior? I drive an explorer.

I'm gonna be using this station broadcaster thing (sortof like the Ipod accessory, except it plugs in directly to the audio jack) I got for christmas to broadcast from the x50 to the car's radio, if all goes according to plan.

Has anyone else tried anything like this? Seemed like it would be pretty easy but after thinking about it I guess mounting it might be difficult without the proper accesories.

Anyways, thanks for taking time to read this! Any help/comments/etc is appreciated!

If you don't know anything about ripping DVD's, get a program like Pocket DVD creator. All you need do is insert a dvd to your desktop and start ripping. It takes about 40 mins on my new desktop... for my x5, I was ripping an entire movie to around 250 megs. with my new x50v, I'll use a higher resolution, so more likely around 400 range.

I have a 1 gig sd and a 2 gig cf card ready for the x50v.

btw, it's illegal to have movies up where the driver can see. If you need to mount your PDA, there are PDA holders available.

That depends on the state.

I recomend Fair Use Wizard for a good program to convert a DVD to a playable movie on your Axim. Then use PocketMVP to play them.

I simply think that driving and watching movie is a *BAD IDEA* in all state!. Nobody should ever try that. I get annoyed when I see people reading newspaper, makeup, dental floss etc.. while driving.

Sorry! Maybe i worded my questions wrong; I didn't mean i was going to be watching a movie while actually driving the car, that would be unsafe I agree. I would probably just use it while sitting around with nothing to do, waiting for class to start or on lunch break, etc. that's what some of my friends with In-Dash DVD players do, I don't know any of them who actually drive down the street staring at a movie screen
