Which Memory Cards work
I will be looking to put a 1GB SD and 1gb CF card into my x50v that will be coming shortly, a bloke at work bought a 1gb CF card that the axim doesn't recognise.

Can people give me an idea of what 2 cards they have in combination working, and what size?

Thanks

Craig

I have the following cards:

1 SD PQI 1GB
2 SD Lexar 1GB
1 CF Hitachi micordrive 4GB.

All of them work great in my unit.

You may want to try and reformat the CF in a reader and then try again. The CF card could be bad...

2 SD PQI 1GB
1 CF Hitachi micordrive 4GB
1 CF SimpleTECH solid state type II card

They all work well.

Have your friend try to format his card to FAT32 and see if that helps.

For general compatibility, I think there's a link to a site somewhere here that lists just about every card under the sun and if it's compatible or not. I can't seem to find it right now. Maybe your searches will be more fruitful...

But if you want a list of cards that DO work and a good reference for how fast they are, you can check out this link:
http://www.choirguy.com/memory.pdf

I have a 1G Lexar SD card and a 2G Lexar CF card and they work fine.

My new PNY 1Gig compact flash card was NOT recognized by
my Axim X50 520mhz. It works fine in my Canon camera and
is recgonized fine by my Dell Desktop XP with Sandisk card
reader.

I tried reformatting, soft boot, FAT32 etc and still no good.
I don't want to experiment upgrading the BIOS to A02
until it is a "slam dunk" and it seems that some have had no
problems but others have.

I know a lot of people have been scared to buy this brand, but I haven't had a single problem with my Rosewill 1 GB SD. It's the cheapest kind newegg.com sold when I bought it (around $50).
