X50 Hard Case Advice Please
Hi,

I have the Belkin Executive leather case for my axim 50v. While it looks great, it doesn't hold the axim in well. When I have drop it in the past the axim has come out of the case (thank god from the complete care waranty).

Therefore I am looking at getting a hard case for my my X50v. I like the look rhinoskin, but I have read in some places that it doesn't fit the X50v. I don't use an extended battery so that insn't a problem.

So is the Rhino Skin ok, or should I look elsewhere like DSI?

Thanks - GW

I'm waiting for this one.

I haven't heard of that Rhino cases issue. I personally don't care for the Rhino but there arre many happy owners.

The RhinoSkin fits the X50v just fine. It does not accommodate the extended battery. PDair has an aluminum case that is similar to the RhinoSkin and they are reportedly coming out with one for the extended battery.

While I found the belt clip of the Rhinoskin to be rather cheap and easy to break, I like the protection the case gives. It has saved many an Axim as evidenced by posts to this forum.

Have you checked the cases sold by Aximcases.com?

Rhinoskin case scratched my 50v. The padding wasn't covering the inside enough. Trying to get both the Axim and case replaced now.

Rhino Skin Fan
I have had great success with the Rhino Skin case. The Axim fits great, and it does not get damaged when I drop it. (I drop stuff a lot)

P.S. Rhino Skin now makes a case to accommodate your extra batteries!!! Part #00565

Proporta has the magnesium cases in stock. I really like mine. Very light weight and strong. Fits my x50v like a glove.

Uh, yes - Rhinoskin DOES have a case for the extended battery. Have a look at Saunder's website. They have free shipping right now.

I really like my Rhinoskin for my x50v. It hasn't scratched mine like others have reported so I can't complain. I don't use an extended battery so no complaints there either.

Yup. RhinoSkins for extended batteries ARE available. No scratches here either! The padding on mine is totally adhered to the back of the case, edges and the tabs that retain the Ax. I've even left mine (stupidity) on my dashboard and really heated it up in the sun. Pulled the Ax out to slip it into the cradle for the GPS and the padding stayed put no problem. Love my RhinoSkin - perfect for the work I do as an engineer (lots of time onsite). I think my second choice would be the Innopocket Magnum.

Here's a thought...

I have a friend who has a Rhinoskin for the extended battery, he doesn't have an extended battery but a spare standard battery sits in the space available just fine under his Axim X50v.
He never has to worry about running out of juice and the extra battery is totally protected!
I like my Rhino so well, I just ordered the Titanium version!

I have a Rhinoskin for my X50V and it fits perfectly. I'd like to try one of the Magnesium cases but don't have the $$ to part with right now.

to Aximsite, BTW!

PDAir owner here and I believe that it was improved upon the shortcomings of the Rhino case.

The Magnesim case is the one to get. Great look with great protection. Order from proporta.com and get it at lifetime warranty. Use discount code PASSITON10 and get 10% off.
You cannot be wrong with the Magnesium case (do a search and read all about it).
Me? I use the Magnesium case of course. It is my primary case and I do have quite a few for the X50v.
