Microdrive cs. standard CF on X50
My Axim X50 (mid) unit is due to arrive to me soon. The main reason that made me buy the Axim was to listen to my music after my loving CD player died on me. Of course it's not the only purpose or else I would have bought something else, but it is surely one of my main purposes. I have about 5 GB of music on my comp.

I tried to but a 1 GB SD and 4 GB CF (I live in Israel) but they told me the 4 was out of stock 2 days later. I was considering buying a microdrive but decided on buying 2 GB CF, but two days later I was announced this was also out of stock.

I now wonder if this is a message from god!

So I have a few questions now that will clarify some things to me about Microdrives in comparison to standard CF:

1. How much more power does the Microdrive consume in comparison to the standard CF and how much time will it give to my X50 assuming I have the 1100 mah battery? Does it have any sort of power saving mode when the card is not used?

2. How sensitive is the card? I mean a simple bump of the axim on the floor or bed can completely ruin it? I will have an aluminum casing. Will it be enough to protect it?

3. Is there a real and noticeable difference in the speed between the microdrive and standard CF?

4. Do you think that in the end the Microdrive is worth the difference in price between it and standard CF?

Bonus question : Did anyone find a place in Israel that you can buy a Microdrive? For some reason I didn't find yet.

An answer to any of the questions would be appreciated .

I'm posting the same question in two forums since I didn't know which one is the most appropriate. If it bothers any of the forum managers, feel free to delete the message
