Not Stiffed by Sena...
Hi,

I had the oddest first time experience with www.senacases.com, and thought I should post this here. This is what happened to me. I ordered an Axim case, and received confirmation on processing. I had chosen Fedex Canada ground shipping as I reside in Ontario, Canada.

I got the following confirmation from Sena that order was completed;

----------- email cut & paste ---------

Dear Mr. XXXXXXXXXX,

Your order has been completed successfully.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Order id: #xxxxx
Order date: Mar 1, 2005 19:34:43
Tracking number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Products ordered
SKU Product Item price Quantity Total

aximx50eb_bblue_clp DELL AXIM X50-X50v EXTENDED BATTERY BLACK-BLUE CASE WITH BELT CLIP Options: Gift_package: No
Gift_Message:

$46.99 1 $46.99
Subtotal: $46.99
Coupon saving: $7.05
Discounted subtotal: $39.94
Shipping cost: $12.99

Total: $52.93

------ then I received this email from Fedex -----

Sent: Wednesday, March 02, 2005 6:27 PM
Subject: FedEx CANCELLED shipment xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

> The FedEx package under tracking number xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx has been cancelled by the shipper.
>
> For further information, please contact the shipper directly.
>
> FedEx has not validated the authenticity of any email address.

What is going on? Has it happened to anyone else? Why would the shipper cancel when they confirmed that the order was completed? Is this what they call customer service for aximsite members... nice

Will follow up and see what went wrong...

Typically, vendors pre-notify the shipper that a package is coming so that the shipper can schedule a pickup and start the processing. The vendor probably gets a discount on shipping if they do that because the driver can pick up the shipment quicker if the paperwork is previously completed. What may have happened is that just as the notification went out the the shipper (and you) that your unit was going to ship under XXXXX, the inventory went dry, so there was nothing to ship. They then cancelled the shipment so that FedEx doesn't start tracking a non-existant package or send a driver to pick up nothing. I'd contact them to see if there is an inventory problem and how long it might take to resolve.

Hmm...

Looks like it was resent a second time "expedited"...will wait and see what it does. It seems to have a slight modification on the shipping, but it is still trhu Fedex. Confusing...says to contact shipper before, but now its another email saying its on its way again.

I'll just wait and let this dust settle before buying another thing from Sena. They look like a good company but I had to look up the number of Sena from the Santa Ana phone directory. Its not listed on their web site.

Also, I've read that many people have bought Boxwave shields for their Axim from their web site, but I can see no links on their web site which shows that it can be ordered from their web site. Am I missing something here?

people should really watch their titles for these types of threads. its a bit of a misleading title that could stand a chance of hurting sena's business for nothing more than a small shipping glitch.

it doesnt sound like you were "stiffed" at all, as stiffed to me means they took your money and gave you nothing, or over charged you and never payed you the difference. Hell you go on about this before even talking with sena.

Considering you hadn't found out what the problem is when you created this, I think it's kind of hasty for you to title this "Stiffed by Sena".

lawman,

To order products from www.boxwave.com, click on the "Products" tab from the main page. You can either click on the individual products and Browse by Brand or Category -OR- you can go to the top, right side of the page in the "search" box to type in your device name. Then the final step would be to "Add to Cart" and proceed payment from there.

Hope this helps! Feel free to let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.

Cheers,
Cho

Sena-Great Company-High Quality Product-Excellent Reputation-lets keep it that way!
Take a look at my title line - thats the way it should read!
A little bit of reasearch goes a long way.

But of course you were inquiring about ordering from the Senacase site.

That was silly!

Cheers

-you probably spent more time creating this thread then you did to figure out what happened.

Easy for you to say considering you're in California!

The phone number of www.senacases.com is not listed on their web page to call them up. So, I had to spend awhile looking up their number to find out what happened. Luckily they posted their address online.

Understand that in Canada, we only have a phone book per province. And looking for Sena was trying to understand how California phonebook operates. Your phonebook directory is broken up to multiple counties? Once I got that, I looked for their physical address to contact them, as that's what listed in the Fedex email to "contact shipper" as to why its cancelled.

When I finally got the number to call, the hours was closed when I called. So, again, all places I bought from has phone numbers listed to call them instead of having customers dig thru multiple phone directories trying to figure out which ones are correct. If the address was not listed, it would have been much tougher.

I'm sure others have much better experiences that I do. My title is harsh and deserving for what I had to go thru, and customers should never have to go thru this kind of self-service. If I wanted self-service, I would have paid less at the local box mall. I did not, and paid higher because I wanted to have a quality case.

I'm still going to wait and see if I receive the case, but I don't think anyone should go thru all the above to get what they need.

By contrast, when I had trouble with a Sena case due to extreme circunstances (ejected fron a car at 50mph, me and the Sena) Sena responded to my E-mail in under 20 minutes and sent me a new case free. I will always promote Sena. You can't buy advertising to compare with the great service I have received.

I'm sure I'll receive my order judging by the number of satusfied customers. When buying over online stores, there are always the "niggling" feeling that something will go wrong. In this case, a bunch of things aligned that caused this bad experience for me. I'm sure they're a great store to deal with, I will recommend to Sena to post their company phone number up on their web site for future customers who wish to contact them to follow up on their delayed/cancelled orders. I think its perfectly legit for anyone to have a number to call if something is amiss instead of wondering how to get the phone number from a different country.

I've had other online experiences where I had to do phone-tagging when an online buy was mucked up by Amazon.com. I'm sure most buyers "don't" have this issue. But, I've had my fair share. ..
