Two standard batteries in extended cover.

Someone mentioned that you could use the extended battery cover with a standard battery if you placed another standard battery in there with it as a space filler.

It would be an excelent way to carry two batteries while your extended battery is charging in the cradle.

You wouldn't have to worry about switching cases when you are using a standard battery.

:not_worth Can someone with 2 standard batteries and an extended battery cover try this out and let us know how it works? :not_worth

Even if it didn't work with two batteries, be a little creative and just throw a piece of soft foam in there to take the space up so you could use the extended battery cover at all times. Because the battery sits in the charger the same way it sits in the Axim you could even adhere the foam in place so you didn't have try and find it everytime. Just a thought.

I'd actually though of that, but how cool would it be if you could just open the hatch and swap the batteies around without having to dig around in your backpack. It'd practically be like having an extended battery, except when you accidentaly leave it on all night, you only lose half of your charge.

and except for the fact that you will get a lot more actual usage time out of an extended battery...

Don't you set your system to turn off after x minutes of no activity? It definitely helps for when those appointments popup when you arent around.

I would have to say its a cool idea but you will probably get more time out of the extended battery. I say this as everytime you put it on to charge, it will be peaked (unlike with 2 you would have to remember to swap them) and also not having to worry about switching them

Good idea using a small foam backing with the extended case with a regular battery! :approve:

Yes, I do usually have my Ax set to turn off after 1min. I've been getting a wierd memory error that doesn't let the Ax turn off. I've hard reset and reinstalled everything, but I still get it once in a while.

Anyway, I'd like to see if they both fit, just so that I can leave my extended battery charging and take the two extras to work when needed. I know I could just put foam on the back of them and carry one in my backpack, but when I don't have my backpack it would be nice to have them both in the PDA. I couldn't really have the extra battery with foam in my pocket. It would get ripped right off.

What I'd like to see is a battery cover with a 'middle' part made of black stretchy rubber that would stretch to accommodate the extended battery and could still be used for the standard battery
