Innopocket Magnesium Case Stinks!
So, I ordered the Innopocket Magnesium Flip case for my X50v. Just got it yesterday. Looks great and securely holds the ppc in place...but the stupid case does not stay closed. It pops open in about 3.5 seconds. It's not the size of the Axim--the case does it on its own.

Save your money, because if you're unhappy, you have to return it to a Hong Kong address, and that's not happening. I'm stuck and either have to carry a rubber band around with it, or buy another case.

Innopocket, you stink!

Did you contact them to see if they will replace it?
Most companies will pay the shipping to get you a new one. They seem pretty eager to get everyone the cases, a little paitence and a good email should get things going....either that or a dremel tool

Was it just bad luck or is that a general problem with this case?

I came home to my find my new case lastnight. I was very excited to get it but I have the same problem. I can't really tell why it won't stay closed it almost looks like the cover may be bent.

I won't jump to that conclusion. I'll wait and see how they handle my issue after I contact them.

Sorry to hear that...its probably just a defective unit. Does the cover stay closed without the x50v inside? do you feel it click into place when you close it? it may take a little more force than you think to engage the locking mechanism. Also, make sure that the hinge mechanism is flush with the top of the x50v when you close it. If the hinge is even slightly lifted above the top of the x50v, the locking mechanism may be difficult to engage.

It certainly is *NOT* a problem affecting all the magnum cases.. mine works perfectly and many others on this forum have been more than pleased with their units.

I just took out my axim and the case won't stay closed either. The left side will click in place but the right side sticks up slightly. When I push the right side down into place it and let it go it instantly pops up.

I'm sure it's not a problem with all of them. We just happened to get a defect ones.

When you look at the way they designed the locking mechanism do you think that the tabs on the lid will wear out the little indentations in the case itself over time?

I certainly hope not...there will be a lot of angry people otherwise Seriously, though, I hope that the material is hard enough to resist the attrition.

Just a thought?
Do you think that the "seller" received feedback that
there was a problem with the product--and thats why
it was "soon" out-of -stock? Just a thought....

No problem with mine, stays sealed tight. If anything the lock and fit is too tight, but in reality that is how I would want it in case the X50v falls.

Sadly I have the exact same problem with my case lid, it pops open after 2 seconds or so after snapping shut !!!! I have to use a rubber band to keep the lid closed... Its just the job otherwise... I have e-mailed Innopocket with the details...

Personally I experience a slightly different problem, but it's surely related.

The case stays perfectly closed after I close it, no popping open... The problem is that when closed, it constantly presses the direction pad buttons of my x50v... It's not a big deal when it's switched off (apart from the lifetime of the button ? hope not), but when I'm using it as a MP3 player and close the case, it constantly presses one of the button that I assigned to next song / previous song / volume up / volume down...

Any of you experiencing the same issue ?
I think the case is not deep enough for the Axim. That may lead to my problem, or even worse to the "popping open" thing.

Why didn't they include a proper closing mechanism ?

(NB: Apart from that, I find the case is superb)

I got mine last night and it has been great. my only complaint is that it has to be taken out to fit in the cradle. No big deal. I am sure most cases have that problem. The Belt Clip is a little lacking. I had several nokia clips like it that I broke off. But the case is strong and has full accessability. The closing mechanism is very stiff and allignement is very particular. That may be the problem.
