Do you have 2200mah battery
I wander how many of X50v users have extended battery. I only have the standard battery and recharge it pretty much every night. Are you using extended battery so that you don't have to recharge every night? What's your reasoning on spending extra on the extended battery? Yes, I'm trying to justify my spending

I have the 2200 battery and still charge all the time. what i wanted it for is so that when i am mobile i don't have to worry about running out of battery. I usually don't ever get below about 50% even with heavy wifi use.

i got mine for free after a few chats w/ dell. its great because i overclock my x50 (mid) to 624 constantly (specially w/ stuntcar extreme) with maximum backlight and wifu/bluetooth on, simply for the LEDs.
overkill? of course! but if i can, why not unfortunatly since extended battery cases wern't available at time of purchase i ended up getting a rhinoskin so now i have to switch between protection and raw power

I use the standard battery mostly and that is sufficient for my use with nightly charges. I am like bigdave though - I travel a lot and the 2200 makes me feel more secure in the fact that I will not run out of juice. And even if I do I have my standard charged and ready for use. If you decide to buy it the Sena case works great with the extended battery - I would highly recommend it.

I don't use an extended battery.
I go home every night anyway, and just leave it to charge while I'm asleep.

I don't have one. At this point I don't see the need - Instead I picked up a travel AC and a charger for my car. Thus far I've gotten by without any problems - Plus the extended battery won't fit in my Rhinoskin.

I had the extended battery for about a week before i dedided to send it back. -- To big, different battery cover, (thus hard to switch to the standard unless you plan on carrying the cover too.) cases,(to switch between batteries i'd have to switch cases too.) unless you want a big pda bigger i'd stick with the standard smaller battery. look at the lion battery site for the best deals for extra batteries. I paid $30 for one a couple of weeks ago http://etxquc.simplyonline.com/default.cfm
To help conserve power I use auto speed and the lowest light setting with the light on. It works fine for me in doors. If you are in the car or outside it can be a little difficult. Games, light, video, and fastest speed take up the most power. task, calendar and reading take up very little.

funny, i am getting the idea from the replies that the extended batt is not very used.

for me, i use my standard batt when i have 2h lecture on mon/thu and the extended when i have 6h of lecture on tue/fri. the extended batt saved me the trouble of bring the power cable and figthing for the power point with other laptop users

I use it all the time. Even trained my non-extended version of the Sena case to 'like' my extended battery (I don't use the battery cover). Wouldn't leave home with out it. Beats carrying 3 spare regulars around.

If someone has a 2200 they don't want let me know
