Because both the A/C and D/C adapters use the USB charging cradle as the power cable to connect to the Axim.

In my opinion, the main use for the USB Sync Cable (which I assume you are refering to) is for mobile users with a laptop or desktop at another location, in which case it is impractible and bulky to carry and use the cradle.
I jeave the cradle at home at all times and use the USB Sync Cable whenI go out.
Remember you can still use the Sync Cable to charge the PDA without having to install ActiveSync or any software - but you obviously cant access the PDA from the computer.
As for the car kit, are you refering to the Car Charger or something else? The car charger is especially useful for those who use their PDA for MP3 playback or GPS services.

i agree with the uses and you make very good points, however, i was just pondering that the no cradle sync cable is semi useless cuz u have to bring the activ sync install CD everywhere you wish 2 file share.

Not Really. ActiveSync is available on the MS website for download. Even if you are going somewhere that has no internet connection the file is only 3.77MB and could easily be kept on an SD card and transferred to the computer using a cheap and small card reader. (say a Lexar jump drive trio) This method may be larger than carrying a CD, but chances are you would be carrying the card reader anyway.
The cable is much smaller and lighter, can be used without removing most cases and can also be plugged into a cigarette-to-usb adapter to charge the axim when on the go. This was an added bonus as I had an old Belkin palm sync/charger that I'd never used and the cigarette-to-usb adapter works great. I use my sync cable on a daily basis. The cradle really doesn’t get much use unless I need to charge a spare battery.
The only downsides to the cable are that you cannot charge a spare battery and it doesn't hold the axim in position.

I have the belkin USB sync/charger with cigarette outlet adapter... I also have an old USB adapter set from my other pda. It has a cigarette USB Power adapter, and a standard outlet USB adapter to charge... Anyone know if this will work with my belkin USB sync/charge cable?

I use the one pictured below that came with a palm sync/charge cable. Don't know what model it was. If yours looks like this then there is a good chance that it will work. I use this one with the DELL sync/charge cable and it charges fine when the device is off. I don't think I've tried it from less than 20% charge though.
EDIT: Hang on, were you asking about the cigarette adapter or a wall to usb adapter?

What I use mini sync cables for
The best thing is the little 110V wall brick that goes with a minisync is like one tenth the size of the power supply and cords that come with the cradle so if you go on the road using the x50V instead of a notebook using wifi for email and surfing and a fold up keyboard you can do anything you want with much less stuff to carry than you would using a notebook. Its just the smallest recharging set up you can get and works just fine. I also use the same thing to power my Dlink pocket wifi router so I can have access to broadband anywhere in the hotel room without cables. CUZ
