Rhinoskin case and more
I am pretty sure I am going to invest in the Rhinoskin case for my Axim X50V...can anyone tell me the best (lowest price, reliable) place I can purchase one? Plus, as I have been reading, should I also invest in a screen protector (people have posted that the Rhinoskin can scratch the screen)? If so which one should I choose?

In addition, I may reconsider buying the Seidio 2 in 1 headphones and instead might buy Black Fontopia® HeadphonesMDR-EX71SL. Any opinions or advice about these headphones or any other super-great sound quality headphones with noise reduction to use with my X50V?

As a side note I purchase the 1G Lexar SD card from Office Max and if it works as well as other posted (still am not sure about the X4 vs what is the real speed of this card debate) I might purchase another since the offer expires on Saturday 3-26-05.

I'm gonna love my new toy...have not yet decided which country I am going to take over once it is at full capacity...perhaps Guam.

I'm actually at the point to where I prefer my Magnesium case (if they fix the latch issue) more than my RhinoSkin due to the top opening instead of the side opening. However, the cheapest I have seen the RhinoSkin is at $30. And Aximcases sometimes has a 15% off code.

I have the RhinoSkin case and have never had a problem with scratches or anything. I think it is a great case if you are looking for a hard sided case. It adds some bulk to the x50v so be sure you really need a hard case before you get it. I got mine through Dell when I got my x50v, but you can get one HERE form AximCases for $34. They also have a buch of others if you have not seen them already.

As for the screen protector go with the big name ones. BoxWave and Brando are good ones. I have the Boxwave Crystal Clear and really like it.

Can't really comment on the rest. Good Luck~

I got a Rhinoskin from Ebay. Fast shipment and pretty cheap. $26.99 plus $4.99 shipping and handling. I like my Rhinoskin.

I have to agree, I love my rhinoskin, but I'm considering a magnesium case. I'd like a case with a cover that can fold back on itself...so I can hold my Axim & case confortably in one hand...?! I assume the magnesium case's double-hinged design allows for this?

Anyhow, I've been very happy with my rhinoskin. I just find the cover cumbersome in the open position sometimes. A minor inconvenience considering how well it has protected my Axim.

Thank you for the input guys. I visited the Aximcase site and found only one entry for a Magnesium case:

InnoPocket Magnum Case for Dell Axim X50 and X50v with Swivel Belt Clip

This case, however, will not be out until April. Is anyone else thinking about purchasing this, and perhaps over the Rhinoskin?

This case has aready been on the market. However, it appears to have a couple of design flaws...the paint can rub off, and when closed, can press on the d-pad. If Innopocket can sort these out, I'll be buying one. On their site, it's currently out of stock.

Also worth mentioning about the Innopocket case is that a couple of people, including myself, the little screw that you use for the belt clip does not screw into the case at all. Also if you use accessories that plug into the cf slot and stick out, like the radio cf card i have, you will not be able to use it while the case is closed.

Well, I have the Seidio headphones (review) and have just ordered the MDREX51LP, which I believe has the same specs as your MDR-EX71SL but without the segmented cord. If you don't mind waiting awhile, I could post back to tell you what I think of it. Keep in mind although the Fontopias will have superior output, only the Seidios feature the built-in mic and volume control.

Yeah I think that would be great, thank you. My friend has the 71SL and loves them. What is the price difference between the two?

In Canadian currency, the price difference is $20, which is why I decided to go for the lower end one.
