Leather cases
The X50v is my first pda and I have no experience with leather cases. After doing much research I think most people in this forum prefer the sena or piel frama cases. My question is, i'm living in Canada and if I purchase these cases online, would i be charged with a tax? The website says no tax but i'm not sure if the final bill is going to be taxed.

Also, has anyone used the flip leather case from dell? Thanks for any input.

Yep, I ordered a Dell case with the ax, as I wanted a solution out of the box. It's good enough for the money, but I really want one of those Innopocket magnesium cases, when (if) they solve the couple of design problems it appears to have.

I am not sure about the taxes. I would think the company you are ordering from would know the answer.

I like the Bellagio leather case although now that Piel Frama is coming out with a leather case that will accomadate an extended battery, I might switch.

Have you looked at Aximcases.com?

Scott

You will most likely be charged customs because of the value of the item and the label on the box. Even if the case was marked "gift," the fact that it's from a vendor makes it suspect. Keep in mind that any package can be opened to verify contents and actual value. Try looking for one on Ebay, or have a friend in the States send one to you.

One more thing: if you decide to order online, make sure it is shipped USPS; UPS tacks on outrageous brokerage fees.

I'm from Ottawa, Canada. I bought the Sena case, and I received it and there were no taxes. You can also buy them from cases.com and the same thing. Unless you're buying something heavy and worth more than US$50/- that is stated on the invoice, you will not get taxed.

There were no issues with Senacases.com or with cases.com.

Have fun with your new case.

Oh, yeah, don't forget to use the discounts when its available. That will help knock off 10-15% as well. So, go check out and see if the discount promo code applies.

I'm glad you guys have had good experiences with Aximcases. However, anyone who is thinking of ordering from the U.S. should be aware that there is always the possibility that you will have to pay additional taxes and brokerage fees. (I am speaking from experience.)
