What else do I need ??????
I've just ordered my x50v and am waiting for it to arrive. It comes with all the standard accessories (cradle, etc).

I've also ordered a screen protector from Brando and plan to buy a case (probably a Proporta or Rhinoskin aluminium as I'm very clumsy) and a spare 1100 battery. I'll probably hold off on getting the 2200 battery for a while.

I'm also considering buying a better note-taking application - maybe Calligrapher and PhatPad - but I'll wait to see how I go with Transcriber first.

What else would you recommend I buy for starters? It seems pretty clear I'll need some storage cards. What sort of size would you recommend for beginners like me?

Any other advice would be great.

Regarding software - you may want to check out the VGA optimized list that is stickied on the X50 forums. Pay particular attention to those apps listed as essential or recommended.

For anyone to help you answer that question, you have to have an inkling aboout what you want the axim to do.

are you a professional who'll use it for presentations and information management (PIM) or are you a student and you need it for notes and games? Do you want to use the awesome screen to see movies/video or listen to MP3s? Are you often away from the home/office a lot such that you'll need to worry about charging solutions?

personally, i'm a professional and a goof. That is, i use it for work and editing/making documents for which i have a screen protector, external keyboard and mouse. I play games and watch videos, so I have a 4GB hitachi MD and 1 GB SD card. I listen to MP3s and I got some koss headphones and I wanted a nice case - so I am getting the piel frama extended (cause i have the extended battery) and I got a charging solution which fits my needs.

So, ask yourself - what it is you want.

peace,

For SD cards look for a lexar 1GB. You never have enough memory.
I also have the Hitachi 4GB microdrive... Loads of space for movies, MP3's, I use my SD for apps for one, another one for MP3's and my Microdrive for Maps (gps) games, movies.
