I copied the article below .....just received my x50 the other day, trying to figure it out and getting there. Bought it mostly for SKYPE and appointments. First I tried out the screen protector material on a microwave door (avery) to see if it left a lot of glue....no problem...leave a slight space on al sides like 1/8" so getting it off eventually will be easy.
Homemade Screen Protectors
I first got this idea from an article at Dale Coffing's website:
http://www.dalecoffing.com. When I tried out his idea, I never looked back! Essentially, homemade protectors are self-adhesive laminating sheets available at any business supply store. The brands I've tried out include Avery Self-Adhesive Laminating Sheets ($9 Cdn for 10 8.5 by 11 sheets) and 3M 4x6 Photo protectors ($3 Cdn for 5 sheets - can make 10 screen protectors). All you need is a straight edge to cut these sheets to the screen dimensions of your Pocket PC and stick them onto the screen using the edge of a credit card to smooth out the air bubbles. Just a word of caution: Make sure you try sticking a small piece of the sheet and make sure it comes off easily. The Avery and 3M I've used don't leave a sticky residue behind. Not only are homemade protectors cheap, but they won't distort a colour screen and the surface is wonderful for entering text.
