Gadget bag
What do you all use to carry your Axim "to and fro" during the day? I don't carry a laptop to work so my old laptop bag is just a bit big to carry every day now. I've looked at various "messenger" or "guide" bags at various stores and thought I'd ask here to see what y'all use.

What I generally carry:

My Axim
My iPod
Altec Lansing inMotion speakers (I use them at work)
TO Bluetooth keyboard
My ASUS WL-HDD2.5 external drive for the Axim

Occasionally I'll have my Canon digital Elph with me as well.

So I'm looking for something sturdy to protect that looks "semi-professional" enough that I can carry to work.

Any thoughts?

Some people will say look for a camera bag, Good advice but you are looking for something semi-professional.

I've got the RhinoPAK 4000 SportCase, It's like a mini laptop case. Do a google search.

Welcome to the site.I think a small camera bag would work. They usually have several flap covered external pockets and a divided internal storage area. Also a briefcase lined with thick foam would work. You could cut openings in the foam for each of your devices for a custom fit.Hope these ideas help.

boy, you are taking some serious hardware to and fro! well, i have mine in my briefcase which is a soft case with special set up for mobile computing (place for laptop etc) with most of my extras - cables nonbreakables - in a large pencil bag.

Since you have multiple small things I would think that you would need a very compartamentalized briefcase and while they're out there, they are not particulalrly common nor cheap.

When you say professional, do you mean leather, hard case breifcase or can a softcase be good enough?

How well does the ASUS WL-HDD2.5 external drive work? Would i need to have it plugged into an outlet all the time? Does it need to be within a wifi network ?

Huh, camera bag...hadn't thought of that. I'll check into it!

When I say "professional" I am meaning just not "bright yellow" or other obnoxious color. Alot of the messenger bags I've seen have bright colors 'cause they are carried by bike messengers who want to be seen. Not necessarily leather.....alot of the small bags I've seen look suspiciously "purse-like" when they are leather.

Trying to find a pic of the Rhinoskin 4000 interior....anyone got a link handy?

On my trip i took my camera, ipod, x50v, BT GPS, Memory Cards, and extra batteries for camera and axim in a otterbox 6510. It worked very well, just a little bit bulky for everyday travel probably

I made this case about 6 months ago to carry my Palm Tungsten T3, Camera, Bluetooth headset etc...

Lets see if I'll modify it to fit my X50v whenever dell decides to ship it...

It looks great. Can you give some details? Size of the box, where you got it. Cost. Stuff like that.

Thanks for pointing out that ASUS WLAN drive enclosure. I was unaware it existed, and I've been wanting something like that for awhile.

I bought a Tumi "man purse" (that post above still has me rolling ) like this one listed in this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

So far it has worked pretty well for me! I am still looking for a small "pouch: to hold accessories i.e. extra battery, presentation cable etc. I carry my AX, BT Keyboard & Mouse and a small Canon SD300 camera around most everyplace and needed something to replace my laptop /briefcase for meetings and on the road. Amazing how much "junk" I could live without with an AX handy all the time...I just add a small memo pad (really the only time I use pen and paper any more..just to give someone a number etc.)

I recently purchased the Roadwired Pod and I love the thing. Plenty of pockets of various sizes to fit all of your gadgets. I tell people it's my gadget bag, not a purse. There are 3 or 4 sizes and you can find them through several online vendors. I found a great deal @ Ebags. Check it out!
