Cases with Mounts
I want to order a Sena flip-cover case for my Axim x50v. The included slip cover is next to useless for me. What's the use of an instant-on PDA if you have to fumble with two hands to remove it from the case first? I like the convenience and screen protection of a flip cover.

Although I have no need for it today, I want to buy a compatible automobile mount in the future. Is there one that I can use without having to remove the case? If I have to take the Axim out of the tight fitting case every time I have to mount it in the car, I'll end up not using the case at all.

Alternatively, what case can I buy that can be used with a good auto mount?

Has anyone found a good solution for this yet?

I use the Sena with belt clip, and I just use the post at the back to hook onto the base of a regular mount.

Sounds intriguing. What mount do you use? Does it supply power to your Axim? Do you have any pictures by perchance?

Also, is the belt clip removable? How easy is it to remove?

I am on mobile right now, but I will take some pics for you. I don't use a powered mount, just a regular generic one.

The belt clip on the Sena is removable, but not the post at the back of the case.

Gigi, I'd appreciate that. If you have a picture of the back of the Sena showing the post, can I please see that too?

I found pictures of the clip here but not the post.

I have an Arkon powered PDA mount and it securely holds my Axim x50 while in the Sena case.

Okay, here are the pictures. Notice the size of post and the size of the opening on the base of the mount. It's a perfect fit and my Axim has never fallen out.

BTW, sorry about the quality - taken with my phone.

Thanks a bunch. It looks nice. What's the name of mount? Does the post bother you when pocketing the Axim in a breast pocket?

These mounts are everywhere and can be found in Radio Shack, etc. Here is one place you can order it.

As for whether the post bothers me in my pocket, I have no idea since I put my Axim in my purse. However, I would imagine it wouldn't be that comfortable if your shirt was tight...hehe

Something similar to this came with my Pharos GPS but it did'nt have the slot in it for the case clip.
I didn't use it because I was afraid I'd tear my vent up trying to get it off. Besides in my Nissan 350z there isn't a big enough vent to use it. I went with a Dell MP3 player mount that fit's in a cup holder that pops out fo the front dash.
It took a slight modification with the trusty band saw but it works great. Any way buying the whole kit with 12v to 5.5v cd power cable, pda/cup holder, belkin fm transmitter only cost $22.00 at Dell.
