Bluetooth Hard Drive?
Is it possible to use one of these with my X50v?

http://www.sunix-gmbh.de/smio/produc...e/ehd2001s.htm

It holds a 2.5" notebook drive and communicates via bluetooth. Could I throw this in my bookbag and have a massive laptop drive a slave to my ax? Or would it make more sense to get the USB host CF card and use a USB 2.0 enclosure for the hard drive?

It'd be dog-slow over BT. I'm not sure if it would work or not. I would guess that it would just use the "file sharing" BT profile but you'd be better checking with the vendor.

Fast enough to stream?

Would it be quick enough to play MP3's and/or WMV movies? You could always transfer through the USB 2.0 connectivity.

I've seen a couple people who've got one of these and use them with their X50v:

http://usa.asus.com/products/communi...5/overview.htm

It's a Wireless G (WiFi) 2.5 hard drive enclosure. I think Newegg sells em for like 80 bucks or so.

I dont have first hand experience with bluetooth data transfers, so I dont know if ti will be fast enough.

But that drive is neat! Any idea about price/avalibility? I think the WiFi ones are more reasonable though since I could attach it via lan/wireless for faster data xfer and even those are quite expensive.

Id rather pay $80 for 80GB (I already have a notebook drive) than pay $250+ for a 6GB card.

With a Wifi or BT HDD what chance do you suppose there would be for data corruption from other RF devices?

I only sync using BT and the transfer rate is good to fair. I wouldn't want to try video viewing this way. It may lockup the unit or the display would have these little squares as the transfer rate will be too slow. Could be intresting to know though.

Cnet says it has a 40gb limit and does not support ntfs file systems fully and also their tech support apparently isnt very good. Thumbs down.
