Keyboard necessary?

I've never had a pda, so excuse my ignorance. When the axim is plugged into a cradle, can I type things in it using my computer's regular keyboard, or do I have to use the stylus?

Or, should I buy one of those $100 dell blue tooth keyboards?

There are ways to remotely control the PDA and use a regular keyboard for input etc. - but you'll find the majority of your interaction with the PDA will be through a Stylus.

Whether you need the keyboard will depend on how you anticipate using it. I have a keyboard and to be honest I haven't used it in six months. I'm sure there are others here who use a keyboard every day.

How are you planning on using the Axim?

Howard is correct. A lot depends on what you're going to do with your pda. Sometimes I go for days without using my BT keyboard. But there are times when I use it every day. I almost never use the keyboard without using the BT mouse too!
