In Mirror mode the display from the screen is sent straight to the VGA out... ie you see it on the axim, and you see it on the screen.

The Clearvue software gives the ability to output at higher resolutions (640*480, 800*600 1024*768) for images, pdf, word, powerpoint and excel)

I'd seriously recommend that you look at Pocket Slides as a program, for the main reason that you can actually edit the slides on your Pocket PC, whereas ClearVue is really just a viewer. It's too bad it is bundled with the cable, and that you have to pay for it.

I believe you need to go to Start->Settings->System->Mirror and select the 'Enable mirror mode' option to display the screen using the vga out cable.

I'm not aware that any apps specifically support vga out, I thought you always had to enable the mirror mode option, but then again I don't have the cable so what do I know

But at present theres no support for resolutions >640*480 on the X50V.

(although they are working on it).

As a clearVue user i was very impressed by pocketslides. When it gets full VGA Out support I'll have to think about it seriously. Until then I'm using with Clearvue (as i've already paid for it and need the enhanced VGA out)

I did get the X50v plug-in for my X50v, but it didn't work that well. I had major issues with the plug-in.

I simply activate MIRROR, and then go to Pocket Slides, and that works pretty well. The resolution doesn't look any better than ClearVue's suite in my humble opinion, but then again, maybe I don't have full VGA enabled in the program or on my Axim.

I just think it's silly to have a program that will show slides, and even re-arrange slides, but not edit them.

Granted, Pocket Slides isn't perfect, but it's probably the best out there for the Pocket PC.

Axim with XGA out as TS Thin Client
Anyone aware of possibilities using the Axim X50v's VGA out (1024x768) with a full size monitor, blue tooth keyboard and mouse as a thin client with either:
Terminal Services or
Citrix.

It seems possible but after much searching I have found little to nothing.

Any direction greatly appreciated.

Haven't got a BT KB. but have done all the others together (well you have to try these things )

BTW mirror mode is ony 640*480. But does fill your monitor if you go portrait...

No reason at all why it shouldn't work with the Keyboard

Thanks for the quick response, only 640x480 resolution hmm... ahh so close and yet so far...

Unfortunately, I couldn't get away with supporting less than 1024x768 as a thin client.

How does clear vue do it?

It's either magic or it does some clever software thing that talks to the video controller directly.

It is a shame that the Dell Mirror mode can't do this, but there you go. I don't think theres a way round it at the moment (unless you feel like writing one )
