Welcome to the site!

Needed accessories depends on what you plan on using your Axim for.

If you are going to listen to music, watch movies, or install a lot of apps, then I would recomend a SD card. 1GB if you can afford it.

Take a look at this tutorial. It is a good place for you to start.

I would love the extra memory from a RAM upgrade but I can't justify the cost and I don't care to void my warranty just yet. I am pretty sure that some of the members have taken the plunge, though.

Welcome to Aximsite! Cheryl is correct a couple of folks here have done the memory upgrade. They seemed to be pleased, but as others have pointed out, it does void the warranty! You might want to check out the "my pda" links of several members to see what they have as accessories and software.

I did the upgrade on my ipaq after the warranty was up and i really liked it. But it is not like BIS, it is more like an internal storage card in that you cannot install apps to it that are required to go in main memory. Whereas with BIS you can.
