Cheryl,
Maybe you should e-mail back the Sena folks with a link to this thread.
I also have the same problem with the D-pad (down scrolling). Looking at the case it appears they do have room to put a little bit of a cut-out at the bottom edge of the case.

Try playing Age of Empires with 1/4th of the D-pad not functioning properly. It is a frustrating experience.

I really wish I could post some pictures but I do not have a camera, sorry. The folks at Sena are tight in making adjustments.Wish they were like the folks in spain pielframa were they at least consider things and not just speak their mind.

Come on Sena why won't you look believe the customer who took the time to email? I remember years ago when I wrote at brighthand as to why case makers won't make a case like this:

- Slim, without having so much leather on the back extending to the sides (krussel cases are big on this).
- Cut the sides of the case up about an inch or so so that the case can sync in the cradle. For a while there were no such cases than sena started to make them that way!

So my point of stating this is that MAYBE sena read the post or saw the need for such a case and now look at the success they have had! So why stop listening and reading what people suggest to you sena??? Just make the change and bring up your sales.

Or better yet use the case with an actual x50v and see for yourselves. It DOES get in the way when we try to scroll downwards. AND, you DO have enough leather to make the cut so don't give us that excuse. All you need to do is follow the SAME pattern as the top of the joy button and that's it. Just make a longer moon looking cut and stitch it up, end of story. Do you want me to show you? PM me and I'll send you my case, I mean it. BTW, I will even show you how to make a SLIM design for the extended battery. And I will show you a real good belt clip system that blows away your current one. I used the covertec stud and clip with your sena case and it's AWSOME.

PM if you like to make a better case. I will share with you some real nice tips on improving your cases. I know you won't PM me but I sure hope you will make the adjustments for other buyers. I normally by cases and customise them to my liking.

I didn't have the heart to cut mine up, so I returned it. But this would be what it might have looked like. Notice how much more accessible the bottom of the DPad would be.

That cut is way to big and so it looks ugly. the cut does not need to be so wide, the same size of the top leather is perfect.

Well... this post just about stopped me from buying the Sena in my tracks! I was just about to order it too.. bummer! I'm looking for a nice case that doesn't bloat the size of the axim but still protects and I don't have to take it in and out of the case all the time to use it.. your comments about the side leather really bothers me... cause I don't want anything interfering with the usage! Oh well.. the search continues!

Just for the record (and for the benefit of those people who are thinking of buying a Sena,) I have not found the leather around the D-pad to be a probem at all. I use the D-pad frequently; my left thumb rests there almost all of the time.

I tend to hold Axim in my left hand, so the I end up pushing the D-pad down with the "inner" part of my thumb pad. It works well for me.

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in here...

Thx for ur info. One other thing which kinda holds me back from the Sena at this moment is the price. On aximcase.com, it is USD$47 (w/ belt clip) - 15% + $12 shiipping for me as an international buyer, total cost about $52, whereas the total cost for the Innopocket Magnesium is about $43, and now I'm looking at the Krusell as well which costs even lower, $37.

Someone here helps me to decide....argh.....

gdzw,

It's actually a nice dilemma having to choose between a lot of really nice case for your Axim. :) Several months ago, the metal RhinoSkin was the ONLY case available, and there was no choice whatsoever.

What sort of cases have you owned and like in the past? I've always been partial to leather flip cases, so for me the Sena was a natural choice. Yes, it is a bit expensive compared to some of the others, (Krussell, Innopocket, etc.) but it's also cheaper than some of the "exotic" leather case out there, (Piel Frama, Vaja,) so it's all relative.

Also, when you're' talking about case design, I have to admit that almost EVERY case that I've ever owned had one or two little details that bugged me. Often it's something involving the leather around the front buttons; my Sena Treo case also is a bit tight around the front buttons. Other cases that I've owned, had a bit of a an unfinished seam in a given area, or the they were too thick, etc. However, for almost all of the cases I've purchased, I quickly got used to the design "flaw" and didn't really notice it after a while. (Disclaimer: I'm not a big gamer, so I'm not quite as picky as some might be.)

Good luck! You've got a bunch of good choices there; just go with one and learn to enjoy it!
