Is the Boxwave Versacharger usable?

Hi All,

I am not sure if the power requirement of the Boxwave Versacharger is resolved when used with the Dell X50v. Can someone tell me?

The BoxWave Versacharger unit shows the following exact info:

AC Wall Input: 100 -240 V AC // 50-60 Hz 0.1A 5VA
Car Input: 12V - 24V DC
Output: 5.3V DC 0.5A

I've read from previous posts that the current provided needs to be 2.0A for it to charge a Dell X50v when the battery (normal or extended) is dead.

The questions I have are the following,

1. Can I charge a Dell X50v with a "dead or less than 25% battery level" 1100 maH normal battery w/Versacharger?

2. Can I charge a Dell X50v with a "dead or less than 25% battery level" 2200 maH extended battery w/Versacharger?

Thanks for any info.

Then why is their web site showing X50v accessories with the Versacharger? I don't get it. Isn't this false advertising?

Or does it work when the battery threshold is higher than 25% but not lower than XX% (i.e. 50%)? If it does not work at all, why do they advertise on their Boxwave web site that you can use teh Versacharger specifically for X50v?

it does say next to it on that listing that it only works to charge when the dell is turned off....i believe they are just trying to show that they are working on it and it should be out soon....

It is False Advertising. Cause it doesnt work when the unit is Off either or when the battery is over 25% or under.

It simply doesnt work. I have suggested they remove it from there x50v listings as well as re-word the mini-sync as it does not charge and sync at the same time.

By not changing and removing this they are leading ppl to beleive there product works and thus makeing Profits off these acessories that do not work.
