I use the axim to read ebooks, mostly. i use the down movement of the dpad, like all the time. with the sena case, how much of a problem will that be?
the magnum case seems to have so many problems........
sure looks cool though.

The lid is straight as can be and the color is black all around. I did read something about two tones in a previous message, but I don't remember seeing a picture of a two-tone mag. case. The color is not quite the same on plastic pieces, but that's about it. I believe it's more a matter of light reflection that a different color.
Hmm... maybe my monitor is screwed up but it looks like it is 2 tone (gray and black) on innopocket's site.

I also use my x50v to read ebooks and watch movies (on the road). The case can be used as a stand. My first magnum case had the d-pad problem, the replacement is perfect. I also have a Rhino case. I definitely prefer the Magnun case. There may be some defective magnum cases, but Innopocket has great replacement service. You do not even have to send back the defective one for a replacement.

the darker parts are plastic. Since the pictures were taken with a flash, the light reflects differently on plastic than on the painted magnesium.

Innopocket only sells all-black cases on their Web site.

Another user's experience...I got my Innopocket Magnum case about a week ago, and am totally happy with it. I have a Mobile Driven charge/sync cable and it fits very well into the cutout at the bottom, but I almost always take the Axim out of the case and put it on the cradle to sync/charge. I'm impressed with the fit of the case to the Axim--I can slide it out readily enough, but it fits very snugly, and no way would it ever fall out accidentally or anything. The case itself seems very solidly built; I can drop it (with Axim inside) into my jumbled shoulderbag full o' crap and never worry that the Ax is going to get damaged in any way. The lid/hinge mechanism is completely straight--I love it that I can fold the lid completely out of the way. And I know some people had problems with the earlier models of the Magnum pressing against the navigator button while closed, but on this one, there's a sort of bump-out recessed area over the navigator button, so no problem. Oh, and the color seems perfect to me--a solid matte black. Skawrpion, I don't recall seeing any photos of two-tone Magnum cases; maybe the reproduction or lighting was off in the photo you saw?

Anyway, I'm a happy camper. The only thing I could wish for is that I could leave the Axim in the case while having it on the cradle, and if that's important to you, the Sena might be a better solution. But for me, the very rugged feel of the Magnum, and the foldaway lid, make it the best choice.

Ooops--somehow I posted my reply after reading page 1 of the thread, and didn't see photos posted on page 2. It does indeed look two-tone there. But in any event, the quality of the finish on mine seems very good.

how close does the innopocket case come to fitting in the cradle? would using a dremel on the cradle allow the magnesium case to fit?

I can see what you mean now that I played with my case close to a light source in a dark room, lol. If this makes sense. :D

I couldn't bear to work the case, so I worked the cradle instead. BTW, the cradle still works even if the Axim is not in the case.

As long as you only play with the case in your dark room.

If not, we don't want to hear about it. :crooked: :crooked: :crooked:

Well, the want me to send the case back, along with a picture of the cable (I guess to prove I have a problem?)

Whatever. I'll take a dremel to it and see if I can fix either the cable or case.

I'm gonna stay away from Innopocket in the future.

That's a shame. The first ones released obviously had issues and they rushed fixed ones to customers hands who had the bad ones.

Now we're hearing from some people that they possibly screwed up again, but this time they're not so quick to help. It wouldn't be too bad, but shipping stuff back to Hong Kong might get expensive. They didn't say they were paying to have it shipped back, did they?
