Innopocket Magnesium Case- difficult to connect usb/charger cable to axim?
anyone having this problem with the magnesium case? apparently the bottom part of the case is thick enough where i really need to push in hard on the connector of the cable that fits into the bottom of the axim, and it's mostly "hit or miss" i usually wind up trying several times before i can exert enough pressure in the right spots to fully connect the cable to the bottom of my axim while it's in the magnesium case...by the way i'm using the dell usb/charger cable with the standard dell ac charger connected to it
I have the same setup and find that connecting the cable is a little difficult. I don't have to apply a lot of pressure for it to connect, but I have to press it firmly. While it makes a good connection without any problems it doesn't feel like it it securely connected.
I have that case, which I received two days ago. So, I assume it could have been a recently produced unit.
I have started using the cable instead of the cradle to avoid taking the unit out each time I sync/charge. So far, I haven't had any problem at all connecting the cable to the unit.
There seems to be plenty of clearance and the thickness of the case hasn't been an issue. Maybe earlier production runs resulted in slightly different dimensions in and around the cutout?
Either way, I would contact the company and let them know of the trouble you are having and see what they are willing to do to remedy the situation.
I have this exact problem. Both the charge adapter and the sync cable won't fit through the clearance in the case. Both cables make electrical contact and work, but if I bump the unit they'll lose the connection.
I've sent off an email to innopocket, we'll see what they have to say.

I have just received my case today and I cannot connect the sync cable it will not even connect, also the lid on the case is crooked to one side and the color is not two tone like in the photos. :rolling:
i'm trying to decide on either the sena fliptop leather case and this magnesium case.
the design and build problems, just don't seem to go away.
i like the metal idea over the leather, but how much longer can i wait?
anybody carfe to persuade me to buy the sena already?
They want me to send the case back to them so they can "investigate".
My initial response: That seems silly. I'm gonna mull over what to do (I'm tempted to take a dremel to it and see what happens, if I ruin it, toss the thing away)

I read a few reviews about this case, and most of then were very positive! I was thinking on getting this case for my self, but now I'm a bit confused....
Are there any other owners of the Innopocket case for the X30 that can give me any suggestion?
The Dell connector was not fitting when the Axim was in the case. The case slot was just a little too small. I then too the Dell connector ans shave each side with an exacto knife. It is fitting very well now.

I did the same as Frenchy - I trimed each side of the the Dell connector with an exacto knife and the connector fits without any problems.

Features:
Cut-outs for IR port, Record button, hotsync port (as long as you shave your existing connector to make it fit) and speaker. I see a product return in my future and a new Sena case! :approve:
