that one looks good. is there any risk using them? do they work well?

if i kept that plugged in while using a standard battery. watching movies that didnt stress the X50v too much, how much more than the standard 2.5 hours would i get?

I have one of these. They work great. No risk as far as I know.

It should work OK.

It depends on the batteries you use.
A good (reliable brand) set of NiMh reachargeable batteries (properly/fully charged) of 2000mAh should give you at least another 5 hours playing time.

I cannot stress too much the importance of the battery brand and good charger as there are many many cheap batteries which do not perform well and there are many cheap chargers of the same.

Alkaline batteries, apart from the expense, are not recommended.
