Axim x50v GSM GPRS Problem

Axim x50v GSM GPRS Problem
Hi
I am using an axim x50v 624mhz. I am having a problem using the supplied Audiovox RTM-8000 Ti-Band GSM/GPRS Compact Flash Card. When I use it with the Phone software to SMS the recipient receives the test in other symbols rather than what I have typed. This does seem to happen if the text is long and sometimes if short it is readable. Also when I initiate the software after the device is switched on the phone book and contacts take a hideously long time to boot up and become accessible within the phone software. Any ideas?

I am using the same Audiovox Gprs/Gsm Card and Use Running Voice Software.
I Havent noticed any problems using it and it is a lot more functional than the software already provided by audiovox.Using it on Orange Pay as you Go in the UK.With an Axim x50v.

Many thanks for the lead as I am peved at the thought of there not being a solution. Where did you get the software from? Are you using a Bluethooth headset with your ppc?

I remember this used to happen when they started rolling out the phones that supported sms messages longer than 160 characters. The phone basically split the message up into several 160 character messages and the recipients phone put them back together.

If the recipient had a phone that didn't have this feature then they would just get garbled rubbish.

Not sure if that is what is happening here; but it's a possibility that the way it's splitting the message isn't compatible with the phone/s that you're sending to.

No idea re: the second problem.

I bought the Running Voice Software from Handango and i use the standard earpiece supplied with the audiovox unit.
I seem to remember that the Running Voice Software can be used via Bluetooth but i think you will prob have to look into it a bit more for sure.
