Heart Alternative for HP Bluetooth Stereo Headphone

Being owner of the HP BT Stereo Headphone. I really enjoy the quality and convenience of the wireless headphone.

However, I find some problems such:
1-Not so discret, big in size and weight
2-Blinking blue light
3-Not too comfortable especially when you lay down or lean on chair headrest...
4-The plastic band is extremely fragile (I broke once!)

I found (and ordered!) this alternative headphone here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

The specs shows this works with the "high quality audio profile" as well as "handfree/headset" phone profile. (But I am sure you can not use both at the same time! or even switch back and forth..without a complete settings, pairing, etc..)

..I know somebody will say, you want to get rid of wire..
But I have been using a similar setup with my BT cell phone (DivaGem 4000 http://www.daisymm.com/l/en/product_mp3_en.php) I wear the unit under my shirt (with the provided necklace earbud) . Actually it is very discret and very convenient as well. :approve:

The important thing is there is no wire to your Axim! and you don't have big thing over your ears...(espcially in office environment!)

I am attempted to pickup the new Sony Fontopia earbud here http://www.buy.com/retail/product.as...727&spf=1&sp=1
:approve:

I will report back how it works when I get them!

I got these headphones and they are the best I've ever lisend to.

They have crystal clear sound and extremely good base but it should be said that they are VERY sensitive and even the lowest volume on the axim is too high to listen to for any length of time. The savior is that Betaplayer and a few other program lets you bypass the system volume and lower it few more notches. The headphones also dampen the sound around you (alot) so speaking to someone while wearing them is almost impossible even on very low volume.

Before i settled with these headphones I tried 3 other sony models, a pair of philips headphones and a mix of cheap random brands (basicly all i could get my hands on).

Interesting Uses for Busted HP Headphones

Some of you might have the HP bluetooth headphones. They've got a design flaw that causes the headband to break. HP has been pretty good about sending a replacement if you call customer service. When my pair broke, they sent me a new pair, but didn't make me ship back the broken pair.

The circuitry in your broken pair is probably still good. You can hack together a new pair. Check out http://eastep.blogspot.com/2005/06/b...e-upgrade.html for instructions. You can improve the sound quality! Or you might not even use the circuitry to build a new pair of headphones. You could build a generic audio receiver by wiring the circuit board up to a headphone jack instead of directly to speakers. It's a fairly simple process.

I also make a suggestion (I haven't tried it) for modifying a particular pair of Sony headphones that clip onto your ear for wireless bluetooth. Give it a look.

I'm new to the bluetooth world. It says USB "dongle" not included. Is that the eggmeter looking thing?

No, the BT dongle is for non-BT PC/Laptop. It looks like an USB thumbdrive giving Bluetooth capability.

I notice some strange thing wwith both HP headset and BT headsets. For the audio out
1-WMP10 works fine
2-GSPlayer works but it freezes between songs
3-PPOD does not work (no sound)
4-WinVibe does not work (no sound)
5-BetaPlayer works fine

I just read up on this new Bluetooth HS "QMB407." Anyone heard of it. Is it worth buying? And will it work on x50v?

Has anyone tried Toshiba Wireless Audio Headphone with Bluetooth Technology? They look interesting and would like to get them if anyone can tell me if they perfom better than HP's. The Toshiba store is selling them at $89.99 http://www.toshibadirect.com/td/b2c/...eg__Technology

BTW, I heard that the HP product is made by Logitech. I guess that good.

I have bought and have been using these Bluetooth headphones
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...yp hotohosting
I love not being tethered to my Axim and sound quality is good
Some times I have a hard time getting volume loud enough
They also double as ear peace for your phone (that is if your phone happens to be a bluetooth phone
