Oups, My mistake. Sorry. I guess it was a little tired yesterday

I examined the case, and the small plastic pins extrude vertically almost halfway under the cover of the case. Looking at the case, I suppose it could be done, but the botton of the cover would have to be modified extensively for the metal pins to be solidly fixed.

Do you have the latest case, or the first ones Innopocket sent? I have what I would call a "second generation" case, and I don't have any problem with the cover popping open. If you have a "first generation" case, you should contact Innopocket they replaced all cases shown to be defective.

I believe all problems have been resolved. Since Innopocket has been shipping the "secong generation", nobody complained about any defect, except maybe the problem about the sync cable connector, which does not bother averybody.

A side question: has anybody not ordered the Innopocket Magnum case from Innopocket and had it replaced by contacting Innopocket directly? Thinking of purchasing through aximcases.com since I want a screen protector too but do also want to benefit from the outstanding customer care from Innopocket.

If I remember correctly, AximCase had not received the cas when Innopocket started shipping them, so AximCase never had any "first generation" magnesium case. Thus, no returns from them.

Ok, update about the modification after a month and a half.

The connector of the cradle broke off today. I believe it may have been weakened due to the fact that it stands out more than it should. Since I "dremelled away" at least 1/8" on the cradle cover, the connector was obviously exposed 1/8" more. One false move while taking out the axim must have broken it off. It was not fixed very solidly to the circuit board.

So let this be a warning to those wo want to try this modification: this is one of its potential consequences.

Of course, I'll be ordering a new cradle from Dell, but I'll keep this one, just to see if I can do something with it. Maybe take the connector from a sync cable. I just have to figure out how to plug in the AC adaptor.

Anyway, I'll let you all know if I decide to donate a sync cable to science.

I've got the same case and for me, button access to the side buttons (Records and WiFi) could be better.
They're just a little too recessed for me.
Or maybe I just need smaller fingers.

PDAAddict,
There is a product called Plastex that I use on my motorcycle to repair the fairings. It is powdered PVC with methylethylketone as a solvent. Once the MEK evaporates solid plastic is left. This could help in repairing and/or reinforcing the connector.
My dos pesos.

Interesting thread... Since I do some woodworking, it might be interesting to build a stand that can function as a cradle with the USB sync cable...
