Am I the only that has had trouble with Boxwave Crystals?
first of all, this thing is hard as hell to put on properly. yes, i did the steamy bathroom technique, but somehow there is still dust that gets under the boxwave. with the tedious use of scotch tape, i am able to get rid of most of it. also i have the problem of lifted edges.

the biggest problem i have is that lint somehow still is getting under the screen in places where there was previously no lint!!!! how the hell does this happen? this is happening not on the edges, but in the middle of the screen! why is this happening? this is my second boxwave screen that i have used now.

Not alone I am with you on this one. I use a technique describe in View MyPDA but still the edges are lifting. No extra lint under though. I found the Crystal too shinny. I will put a Brando to the test after this one is done.

lifted edges here, too. Doesn't seem to affect performance, but it's like one big air bubble that circles the entire screen. I can push it down, but it still comes back up.

I have the same lifted edges you have all described, but it doesn't bother me. It's invisible while in use!

I agree with you on this one but the problem with time is that it gets dirty under and the life of the protector is reduced by it.

This same problem is making me consider a Brando Crystal screen protector. I removed my Boxwave screen protector (non-crystal) once to clean some dust from under it. Upon re-application, the corners wouldn't stick down all the way. It is my belief that there is weaker glue at the edges so that the tape can lift the screen protector... but this has the side effect of having lifty corners.

The brando, on the other hand, has no reported corner issues. However, I have NEVER delt with them, so I am anxious to hear from a user who abused those things (the crystal in paticular). Does multiple removes lead to corner issues? How is it removed? How hard is the screen protector to move? Does it have dust under the screen protector issues?

I'm, through all these "Boxwave has lifty corners" threads am waiting for an answer to my questions... I don't want a Crystal screen protector to be visible when my device is off... kinda removes the point of being Crystal!

me too. I had screen alignment problems and the boxwave made it worse. I also couldn't stand the lifted edges. Although it does look great while the screen is on. I decided to order some brandos and try them. For anyone's entertainment, here's what I've had on my screen so far and why they didn't appeal to me.

Nu-shields, slid to much.

Boxwaves, lift edges. Great if you get it on exactly right.

A clear piece of custom cut (by me) badge protector. too thick and not clear enough.

A piece of custom cut plastic copy film. Just like nu-shield except scratched to easy

Right now I have my borrowed original Dell Axim X5 protector.
Doesn't fit but better than nothing.

Currently waiting on the brandos.

Look here for a good guide to put your screen protector on.

I'm using belkins that are designed for the ipaq. Slightly undersized, but they work fine.

I'm getting lifted edges too, and also had lint problems when applying. Boxwave themselves say the lifted edges go away after some time...what bullcrap.

And I don't understand that guide. Maybe some pictures would help, because I can't picture what I'm supposed to do.

well I had the lifting edge problem but after using my ax on a hot day the problem went away edges stuck down now so I recon that the heat has made the screen protecter mold better on the screen.
Maybe a hair dryer may do the same trick just a thought.

glad to hear that i am not the only one....like i said before, the lifted edges, i had heard about, and it does not bother me all that much. the fact that i had no lint in the middle of the screen upon applying it, and now there is, now that is worrisome and messed up! i do not want to lift the whole thing up and clean it out cause in my experience, more lint can get trapped under there!

i hear brandos are not as clear as boxwave, so if anyone knows, please post!

That's why I switched to Brandos. I didn't have to put it on in a steamy bathroom with the temperature at 150 degrees and my left finger touching my nose. I just put it on and it's perfect. No air bubbles, no lifted corners, nothing. Can't even tell it's on. I will always use Brandos from this point on.

see when i was contemplating which one to buy, i was choosing between boxwave and brandos. and from this i gathered that boxwaves were the best, more people tended to like them. but i dunno, now i am seeing that lots of people like brandos.
maybe i will try those next.
