Just Received the Virtual Laser Keyboard

Well, I just got my Bluetooth Laser Keyboard http://www.virtual-laser-keyboard.com/

I must say so far it is very cool, you cant use homerow typing, but chicken pecking or modified home row (holding fingers above the keys) works well :approve:

so far fun, i need to do more testing though :approve:

By "home row" are you referring to the little bumps on the 2 "home row" keys that would be on a normal physical keyboard?

I think he means you can't physically rest your fingers on the keys while you're typing. As I'm typing this I'm realizing that I actually don't hold my fingers on the keys when I'm typing, only when I'm setting myself up to type.

The coolness factor on this gadget is extremely high.

I rest my fingers on the "home row"... this is the way all "touch typers" are traditionally taught. I would think it would be very difficult for a "touch typer" to hover their hands over the "home row" of any length of time... Good luck with it Grentz! I'd love to read your take on it.

As for me? I'm sticking to my Think Outside BT Keyboard. :)

Pretty cool, are you planning to do a review? That would be interesting for many members.

Thats sick. I was actually planning on getting one. I just wasn't sure if it was reliable/compatible with axims. Right now I've got $180 so I am close!

Aye, glad this stirred up some action while I was gone :approve:

yes by homerow i mean you cant set your fingers on the keyboard, it detects the key touch when you have your finger right above the key, so you cant easily home row type. But with practice, i have gotten pretty quick at it even chicken pecking/home row combination :)

The version I received was the Bluetooth Version. I will be using my thinkoutside still, no worries :)

It also is pretty neat as it is very small...

And yes i will be reviewing it, it will be featured on my sites www.techislands.com and www.reviews.schrags.com :) I will make sure to tell you when i am done reviewing (usually takes a few weeks)

Thanks for the excitement guys :approve:

Forgot to mention...only problems i have found so far is that the battery may be limited (spec is >2 hours) and the driver can sometimes freeze (just need to exit the driver program and restart the driver program)

besides it seems very good :)

Oh.. and the laser will burn your skin if directly exposed for more than 15 seconds. Make sure to wear sunscreen and never look in the direction of the virtual keyboard while its turned on, because of irrepairable retina damage. Also, any loud sound or sudden movement can cause the highly volatile core to become unstable. Do not use the virtual keyboard around wheat products.
