Recommended X50 accessories?
Sometime this week I will be buying my first PPC, a Dell Axim X50. My accessories list include:

1.) Sena black leather case w/o belt clip, link
2.) BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal Screen Protector, link
3.) Zonet Bluetooth USB1.1 Dongle, link
4.) PC Chips IC CARD 12-in-1 USB2.0, link
5.) Kingston 1GB Compact Flash, link
6.) SanDisk 128 MB TransFlash, link

I am still undecided about whether I actually need the Bluetooth USB Dongle or the TransFlash card. I figured that the Bluetooth USB Dongle will be used for wireless internet from my PC while at home and the TransFlash card to download custom ringers. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Any general comments?

Why do you need the Transflash card? For your cell phone? You can get a 512 mb SD for less than that 128 mb TF.

I'd steer clear of the Boxwave Cleartouch. I'm very disappointed in mine, and other folks on here are as well. Boxwave has an issue with curly edges on their screen protectors which means that there are air bubbles in their screen protectors running about 2mm around the edges of your screen. I'd look very closely at Brando as an alternative.

I looked long and hard at the Sena case before deciding on the Piel Frama. One big thing was magnets. I come from the old school of computer equipment that says don't get a magnet near a computer. I know that my PDA doesn't have a CRT screen or a 5.25" magnetic media drive, but it was just drilled into me as a kid--keep magnets away from electronics.

The second big thing is that Piel Frama has sponsored big giveaways on this site of their products, and I want to support the vendors who support this community.

...just some things to think about! Enjoy

Sena cases are nice. I have been looking at them myself. I can't agree with the previous post on the Boxwave Crystal protector. I have one and have been very happy with it. No problems what so ever. Brando are also very nice however. As for the card reader I just got THIS ONE It's a 12-1 i-rocks and it is free after mail in rebate. 1GB CF is good, but I would also skip the transflash and go with a 1GB SD card. Unless there is some other reason you want that card. Last, I can't comment on the bluetooh deal. I have a 50v so wi-fi is already there!

Good Luck and Enjoy your Axim~

I would definitely recommend the Sena case. Love the look and the ability to keep the x50 in its case while I have it docked in the cradle. I own both Boxwave and Brando and definitely would recommend the Brando screen protector over the Boxwave. I will only purchase Brando protectors.

I'm not sure why you need the transflash card.

Thank you all for your reply's. The TransFlash card was supposed to be for my V710 phone but I have decided against it. I've read the thread you are refering to about the complaints about Boxwave. I will have to look into it further. I'll revisit the Piel Farma and see what I think.

I recommend getting a gamepad, as soon as someone freaking makes one.

I'm another Sena fan, but I've never had a Piel Frama so cannot compare the two. As for alternative screen protectors, Brando is something to look into. I have one and am very happy with it.

I am another sena fan and had owned both a Sena and a Piel Frama. Purchased the PF instead of Sena for my x30 because of usage reason rather then quality reason.

Even though PF is padded in the back I still think Sena has better quality And if only sena would make the case with snap closure rather then the magnetic closure, i would be dumping my PF in a heartbeat for the nice cool look of sena

did i mention that with the sena case you can slip a small mirror in it? VERY USEFUL!
