Using both SD & CF kills battery?
I've got a standard battery and was wondering if anyone knows that if using both a SD and CF card at the same time kills the battery by a significant margin, especially in comparision to using just 1 SD or 1 CF. I was trying to search the forums, but couldn't really find an answer. Thanks.

No reason it should, unless your CF card is a microdrive.

I guess it is depending on how you are using the Sd/CF cards. If you are watching video you better be worried about the display draining the battery than the card. Why do you need to use both?

Haha...oh, I don't really need to use both. But the thing is I had orginally ordered a 1GB CF card, but when my ordered got delayed, Dell included in a 512MB SD card for free. Also, I have an SD reader but not a CF reader, so I was thinking I'd just use the SD when I wanted to transfer movies or music as it'd be faster if I used the card reader instead.

I use both all the time and don't see any significant battery drain. Both are 1GB.

I, too, use both 1Gig cards all the time without causing significant drain. No reason they should.

I also keep both in my machine and have noticed no issue.

to determine the battery usage look for the drain of both cards on their datasheets and compare that to the Axim's 1100mAh battery. Good flash cards though generally take very little power

No, it doesn't. Both devices are FLASH memory which requires little or no power until you access them. They're both NVRAM (Non-Volatile RAM).
