If I purchase my pda case direct from Senna and have it shipped to the UK for $19.99 will I end up having to pay taxes when it arrives?

You should assume that you will have to pay tax on it. (It is a taxable item after all). It's quite possible that it might slip through the system and you get off tax free.... but that should be considered as a bonus not a right

Taking into account the cost of a case from Sena and the 15% Discount they offer at them moment in the HotDeals Forum.

The cost is $37.39 which converts to £20.33 (assuming the CC converts at market rate). If it got hit by take that takes it up to $43.93 which converts to £23.38.

3eLimited sell the same case for £31.18! Ouch! Seems like a heck of a markup.

I received mine recently directly from the US. (I ended up paying over £30 equivalent for it.)

Anyway I didn't pay tax (VAT) on it.

However the official customs and excise postion is this, for most consumer goods: if the item is valued at £18 or more then it is subject to VAT.

SO i guess I should have paid tax on it.

I think you mean £19.99 and not $19.99 right???

I didn't have to pay any customs charges when I bought my sena case and a couple of screen protectors the other month, though I ordered from cases.com

Thought it was great service got it from the US in a couple of days, beats some UK retailers!

Hope you don't get any charges!
