Covertec vs Sena Cases
Anyone using covertec cases for their x50v? What r your thots' against the very popular Sena cases? It seems the Covertec has nicely molded SD slots...

i like the that Sena case doesn't have an "obtrusive clasp" but it seems the leather by the screen flares out a little...

TIA

sena is a great case. It has a bit more quality in the leather and works well with the magnet closure that does not have the strap.

The covertec is well made and a good alternative

I also have both. The Covertec is a more substantial case than the Sean--by that I mean it's sturdier and a bit more solid.

The Sena covers more of the Axim's sides than the Covertec. I think the SD slots are better on the Covertec, as you've noted, since they are "carved out" to allow the cards to stay comfortably away from the screen. (Not that the Sena is poorly designed in this regard, but the Covertec is actually recessed a bit.)

I'd have to respectfully disagree with Grentz (who is something of the X50 case guru) on the quality of the leather. The leather of the Covertec is a little different than the Sena, but I think they are equally fine.

The biggest difference for many would be fact that the Sena is a little slimmer than the Covertec, and the magnetic closure of the Sena, versus the magnetic clip of the Covertec. Very subjective stuff.

I have both, but use the Sena as my everyday case because I've grown to like the easy-opening magnets and slimness for carrying in my suit.

If you're interested in the Covertec, shoot me a PM, as I'm selling my brown one which has hardly been used.

It all depends on what you like in a leather case. Personal preference comes into play very quickly with these 2 cases. Both are very nice cases and really the biggest deciding factor in my mind would be if you want the strap (covertec) or no strap (sena) closure

Another thing to look at is that the sena holds the X50 all around. The covertec just holds it at the bottom of the unit. This is good and bad as it is nice that the case is not all the way around the screen, but sometimes i feel that the sena is a bit more of a secure fit as it is a bit of a struggle to get it out of the case. Which brings me to my next point. With the sena you do not ever need to take the X50 out of the case as it works in the cradle. The covertec does not offer this feature

I like both cases equally, it is really your personal preference

also, the links now work just fine...the servers were down for about 10 minutes today, sorry about that

Covertec has hotter colors, but Sena has an extended battery case.

xdalaw...sorry...would love to help u out...but i had purchased a Krussel from aximcases.com and am waiting to return it for an exchange but also thanks for the comments too

both are extremely attractive with their unique features...i am somehow leaning ever so slightly towards the covertec...since i don't quite need an extended batt so don't panic! i should be ok
