Keyboard
Hello,

I was wondering if there is a good keyboard out there that can hook up to the x50v wirelessly or by bluetooth. The reason is that I have a sdio gps card and the compact flash card is taken up because it holds the maps for the sdio gps. Is there a keyboard that is good and portable that can hook up to the x50v with out having to take thoes items out?

Kaine260

P.S. I hope I explained it to what I am looking for and to see if anyone out there might have some info on a product that could get me on my way.

I suggest you make a search for "keyboard". In this forum alone, you will find tons of information about all kinds of portable keyboard.

BTW, no keyboard that I know of require that you take out the CF or SD card from your Axim, so that's one worry less.

Because you mentioned you using GPS, I guess you'll be on the road and not sitting in an office?? So, I would recommend a BT keyboard over an IR keyboard. IR needs line of sight, so a desk or table is needed for best results. A bluetooth keyboard just needs to be in the same proximity for it to work.

As mentioned earlier the Think Outside the Box BT keyboard works quite nicely with the X50. The Dell Executive BT KB is the same as the TO KB, but has the Dell stamp on it. If you happen to have a credit at Dell, you might consider getting it if you think it will meet your needs.

Another thought, if you are using this mobile, is to get a traditional (non-folding) BT keyboard. That will sit on your lap and in the passenger seat a lot sturdier than a folding keyboard.

Another vote for the Think Outside BT Keyboard. I have one and just love it!

Get the Dell Executive keyboard for the X50v.

I have one. IIRC, it's $50 cheaper than the ThinkOutside, but it's just a rebadge. It's also a LOT cooler looking, imo.

Yes, and here is the link:

http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...=&refurbished=

One thing I noticed after trial and trial and trial to make it work, was to shutdown Journal Bar, Batt Pro & Wisbar Advanced. I then did a clean install and it works. I then was able to turn those features back on and it still works.

Oh, while we are on the subject of those KBs, is there a way to turn off the click sound on the Axim? I type 85+ wpm and that sound is most distracting and slows me down!
