This a quick review from a board member:
...OK, as promised. Here is a quick review . I got the 6 gb CF drive from Dell. It was the blister pack without the pcmcia adaptor. Taking it out of its package is no problem. First thing I did was to get a 1 inch piece of clear tape and apply it to the front and back of the drive. I left enough to squeeze a bit on top leaving enough to grab onto so I could remove the drive from my Axim. Popped it in. Drive already formatted to Fat32. After removing it and placing it in my usb reader, I loaded it with audio and video files. Testing with betaplayer showed file playback at 130 % with no skip frames. That my test file at 600kbit save rate. Audio with Pocketmusic was smooth. Shuttle play was fast. I didn't noticed any difference from my SD cards. The drive is also very quiet. I couldn't hear it spinning, unlike my magicstor drive. Overall I'm extremely happy with this purchase. I had hoped to write a longer review, but its Sunday and I'm using my Axim to write this. I haven't played a two hour movie yet to read battery usage at the end. I plan to start at 100 and see where I end up. Very nice drive indeed .
