Yes, the key with skype or any other alike is the hardware functionality. If the microphone and speaker works OK using BT before skype, it will work properly after its configuration.

I just heard that if you use a bluetooth headset no sound would come out of it, Isent that why the new bluetooth option for bluetooth headphones was added?
Sorry, I know it is late, but I don't understand what you are trying to say, maybe it is just me?
Are you saying that a bluetooth headset with the X50v will not work because there would be no sound?
If that is your statement, sorry to day you are totally wrong.

I read awhile ago, that any bluetooth headset used with the Axim would not produce the sound.
To sum all everything up.
If I use a bluetooth headset (ones used with cellphones), it would work insted of the build in speaker and microphone and allow me to use it to talk with skype? I dont have a bluetooth headset yet so I would not know. And to make it work how I would want it, I would have to pair the headset and axim with the Hands-free bluetooth option?
I've got a Plantronics M-2500 BT headset and when it's connected to my Axim, all the sound comes out of the headset, and the mic on the headset records sound instead of the internal mic.
I've been using a Motorola HS820 with my X50v without any problems. Once it's been paired an turned-on through the BT manager, all mic & spkr audio is re-routed to the headset.
And yes, it works with Skype.

I think that you probably read a thread concerning the HP Stereo BT headphones. This device does require the updated BT stack. Most mono BT headsets should work without updates on the axim X50. My headset is about 3 years old and still works well with the X50(v).
You are correct in your assumption that all audio will be transferred to the headset. It will work for skype use and that is the correct profile to pair with (Hands-free/Headset setup)
